Glenlo Abbey Hotel

The hotel and the grounds were so beautiful- loved everything about it. Staff were great and super helpful. We did the Falconry experience and it was amazing! Worth the money.

The staff was amazing and the property was amazing. Wish I had time to golf. Very comfortable rooms, and Breakfast was great!

I chose this hotel as I wanted to dine in the Pullman Restaurant. The hotel is fabulous. The facilities are marvellous and all the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

This is an excellent hotel, service and food is exceptional. The only fault I found was with the 9 hole golf course which in my option was overpriced especially as the condition of some of the fairway’s was substandard

Exceptional quality in terms of the room and facilities. Very quiet and relaxing. Pullman restaurant was fantastic. Also location is outside Galway but near to major roads etc.

Beautiful grounds and hotel. Tranquil in a first class environment ! Food, service, room and ambiance were fantastic!

Rooms fab with classy decor, very spacious and good a/c. Barfood and breakfast offering very ordinary. Service good at Reception but basic in Palmers Bar and at breakfast. No leisure centre. Definitely not worthy of 5-stars in my view and does not compare favourably with other 5-star hotels or indeed high-end 4-star hotels in Ireland.

This was our 2nd time staying at the Glenlo. The reception staff were brilliant and very welcoming and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean. On our first night we had decided we were eating in Palmers Restaurant as we had done so on our first visit and really enjoyed it as the food was very good and reasonable priced for a 5 star hotel. This time however the standard was the opposite. The staff were excellent let me say that first. We both ordered fish and chips, after waiting nearly 40mins they arrived at the table. The piece of BATTER was extremely small and the few chips on the plate was embarrassing, we both cut into our fish and the little piece of fish inside, in fact my wife said there was none in hers. It was all batter. A woman next to us spoke to us how poor hers was as well and all 3 handed back our food. New plates arrives and this time same size little piece of fish but the batter wasn't left cooking as long this time we got a big bowl of chips each. We left the restaurant that evening disappointed as we felt we didn't get value for money we expected to have to pay extra at a 5 star but this mains course was poor. A little of battered fish and a handful of shoestring chips. We did not return to the restaurant for our 2 remaining nights. At breakfast the selection of cold buffet was good when it was on display. People kept asking for items that were missing. The staff were really under pressure. The first morning my wife waited 30 minutes to get her tea I had my coffee in 10mins it took ages to order. I ordered some toast for 2 it took 20mins to get 2 slices between us we didn't ask for another one as we would have been finished by the time it would have arrived. The table next to us a woman ordered toast but didn't arrive with her breakfast again she asked 3 different waiters she had her breakfast finished by the time it arrived. There was definitely an issue with the kitchen. The staff throughout the hotel were amazing and couldn't help enough. Overall our stay this time was disappointing while the staff were excellent our experience with the restaurant and at breakfast left us disappointed. We saw a huge change since the last time we stayed and felt the stay was over priced for what we received.
