Hotel is in a great location in the heart of the city, easy access to local pubs and restaurants. The beds were comfy and rooms were kept cleanly. A big thank you to Marcelli for her amazing hosting, friendliness and helpfulness. She really improved our trip!

Yes, this hotel is ancient (over 400 years old) as pointed out in a quaint book available at the breakfast table. You'll be warned in an email before check in that there is no elevator and that it can be noisy. The soundproof windows that can be locked down do a good job but it helps if you enjoy the sound of people having a good time enjoying the musical venues at street level. The winding staircase (38 steps in all) takes you past rooms named for explorers, authors, and fictional characters from the Knights of the Round Table. The rooms are tiny with less space on one side of the bed to even leave your slippers. In place of a closet there are pegs on the wall to hold your clothing. Some bathrooms do not have a window but the one that did (our party had 3 rooms total) smelled very musty, even after leaving the window open to air things out. Breakfasts were delightful with breads and cereal, yogurt, fruit, meats and cheeses. The staff were multi-lingual and very gracious.

We recently stayed here as the last leg of our honeymoon! The hotel has a lot of history and is in an excellent location in the Latin quarter! Our room was quite small and decor was a bit outdated. The staff was friendly and helpful, assisted with carrying our bags up the stairs at check in, as there is no elevator. The included breakfast had a good spread to choose from and was included in the stay. The parking garage nearby, Spanish arch parking, which offers a discounted rate for hotel guests was so tight and difficult to navigate, at least for us Americans. You may want to consider parking elsewhere. They treated us to complimentary champagne for our honeymoon!

7 Cross Street is right in the heart of the Latin Quarter in Galway making it a fun (although noisy) and very walkable place to stay. The breakfast was great and the staff was friendly, though sometimes hard to locate. The building is old and our room was very small, but they provide interesting historical information for the building.

Hotel is right in the heart of the action in Galway. Excellent music in the bar next door although the music was quite loud in the room also. The hotel provided ear plugs so it didn't really bother us. Hotel is a very old 600 year old building with no lift, steep/narrow stairs so carrying luggage was challenging. The room was very small. The car park at the Spanish Arch has extremely small parking spaces and was daunting to navigate, for a westerner. Unfortunstely missed our first night at the hotel due to a plane delay and couldn't get a refund.

As mentioned in other reviews, there is street noise, but the hotel provides ear plugs. We don"t mind staying up until the noise dies down but if you like to go to bed early, you might want to find a hotel farther from the Latin Quarter. Rooms are very small due to the historic building but manageble for a 2 night stay. Breakfast had a nice spread of yogurts, hardboiled eggs, cheese and breads. Staff were very helpful.
