The one positive point first: The hotel is nicely located directly at the coast a bit out of Galway. There is bus station close by with a direct connection to Galways. Wenn now the downsides. The hotel is directly above a pub and the rooms are poorly soundproofed. We heard everything that was happening in the other rooms and staircase as wells as loud music from the pub until 3am. Even though the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking, the pub isn't and the smoke comes trough the open door up the staircase into the hotel part of the building. The view from our window was onto a rooftop with a lot of clutter and a ventilation machine which presumably ventilates the pub. Every couple of hours it would start blowing out air (even trough the closed window) and the room would smell of cigarette smoke. The machine sounded like an aeroplane starting, even at night. The beds were comfy, though a queen size bed is a bit small for two people. The bathroom was way too small. The sink could barely fit two hands in there and the water stopped running immediately when not pushing down the button anymore. The shower was pretty small as well, rain shower only and the shower head hangs about a meter above the head which causes the water to just drizzle on the head.

NEVER GO THERE IF YOU NEED ANY KIND OF ASISTANCE. The personnel are completely unprofessional. Almost all time there was nobody at the reception, so if you neede something npbody could help. I have asked for the receipt of my payment and I after already 20 days I could not receive anything. I have called, wrote email, wrote through *********** where I did the reservation from, but they completely ignored my request. I went for work and ı anticipate the payment. Because of the,r unqualificable behavior I have lost 270 euros. DO NOT GO, ,f you go for work and you need an official proof of your payment.

The bedding was old and shabby ,sink not clean had to boil the kettle from a socket near the floor as none on top to do this very cramped room one small window that was high up so no view only a brick wall out side would not stay again as this room looked so different to what was advertised not worth the money as I’ve stayed in better b&b

We were in holiday hotel for one night in late June. Great location , outstanding rooms , which looks like refurb very recently. very clean room. Easy check in even it was very late in the day. I would highly recommend anyone looking to crash in to Galway for the night to use this hotel as their accomadation. Not pushing for check out time even though we checked out on time.

We booked this property with a very short notice and limited options on a bank holiday weekend. For a start is not a hotel nor bed and breakfast, is just a room with a private bath room. No place for breakfast, limited attendance in reception. There is a bar downstairs and the bar staff will come on call to check on you if requested. For a start, we didn’t set off with the right foot, I received a call that my booking had to be cancelled the night prior to check in as per a mistake in the inventory and availability, with no other counter option rather than me booking somewhere else. According to other reviews, this seem to be a habit and I assume they try to cancel your booking when they have another request for a longer stay or most suitable business for them. As I had not given too much thought in booking this accommodation in the first place, I was not really bothered. What did put me off was the fact that I was asked to cancel the booking on my side under the premise I would not be charged, when the whole situation was caused by them with no apologies or reasonable explanation. The following day I was offered the room again as they said it was a mistake and misunderstanding. We decided to still check in as it was an inconvenience to look somewhere else when we were on our way to destination. The room was OK, on the third floor so not a lot of noise from BAR downstairs. It’s an old building that would welcome some refurb, but room was clean, bathroom was functional, we had basic amenities and size was suitable. Location is great, but staff could do way better. Wouldn’t stay again.

Checked in & was brought up several Winding stairs to an attic room: room was basic, clean but this was not what I had paid 110 euro for. Felt unsafe. How can it advertise as a hotel when they don’t do food. Checked out as quick as I checked in!

Most unwelcome I've ever felt in any pub in Ireland and SaltHill of all places. He was alll nice with the locals. If he wants it to be locals only he should have a bouncer on the door and say so upfront. The younger bar man was really nice. I love Galway and he just made me fell so ousted.

I can’t rate this place highly enough. Situated in the hills with breathtaking views of the stunning coastline, Villa Ketty is a fantastic find. Antonio and his wife Denise lead a fabulous team who cannot do enough to ensure you have the most fabulous stay. Winding roads lead down into the nearby town and if you continue on further, you hit the beach clubs. The train station is just a short walk away and provides quick and easy access to Sorrento and the rest of the Amalfi Coast. In the opposite direction is Pompeii. At Villa Ketty you are treated to a breakfast of dreams, full of homegrown ingredients. Our room was charmingly decorated, comfortable and cleaned daily. But most impressively we had views directly out onto the beautiful coastline. Highly recommend.
