I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

For art and music lovers, the Copthorne Hotel Newcastle is ideally situated near the Newcastle Train Station, the Metro Radio Arena, SAGE Gateshead, and the Baltic Arts Centre. Newcastle United Football Club, Beamish Open-Air Museum, the Millennium Bridge, and Newcastle’s only Michelin star restaurant are all also within easy reach.

The Copthorne was just about OK. We stayed on a Sunday night when occupancy rates would be low with plenty of availability. Yet we were assigned a 5th floor room close to a metro railway bridge which ran till midnight and was very noisy. The room was cold. Breakfast next morning was plentiful but forgettable. Self service for everything. Not even a pot of tea or toast served to the table. Not what I expect from a 4 star hotel. How are the stars earned/allocated?. I wouldnot be in a hurry to return. It was situated next door to a Travellodge which could have been booked for half the price and who's services I suspect would have been as good if not better.

Stayed in this hotel for a one night business trip stay over. If you’re looking for something with a little character this is a great place to stay . Central Newcastle , right next to the central train station and Metro entrance, a little bit of elegance. A lovely entrance foyer ( decorated with an amazing Christmas tree) with large chandeliers and helpful staff at check in. Finding my room was a bit of an adventure , but part of the charm of a historic building .
My room was clean , quiet , mini fridge , kettle and tea/coffee , tv , surprisingly good bathroom and comfortable bed.
I had a good English breakfast in the morning , and again the staff were lovely.
I thought it was very good value , and I would stay again .
Hotel Indigo Newcastle is a stylish 4-star hotel in the Newcastle city centre. In our design and decor, you will see influences from Newcastle's industrial and shipping history, and of course, nods to the local football club. Hand drawn murals on the internal walls of the hotel depict our neighbourhood story and local history. Relax in our stylish bar before a meal in 'Social Bird', a brand new dining concept where guests and locals alike enjoy food and drinks to rave about. We are situated near the railway station, Grainger Market, and the Tyne Theatre and Opera House. Our team is passionate about sharing the best of our neighborhood, so you'll never be short of recommendations.

We are in the IHG club and have therefore stayed at other Indigo hotels. This was our first visit to Newcastle. We got off to a bad start because when I tried to phone the hotel prior to our arrival I was put into an endless loop which didn't get anywhere. I eventually had to contact Indigo Central who had the same problem getting through. Someone from the hotel did then contact me however and apologised that there were issues with the telephone system. Not a good first impression however. The other issue we had was with the room cards which I had to have re-calibrated a total of five times in the two days we were there. We were eventually told that if we kept them in the same pocket as a mobile phone or in its vicinity this would stop the card working. This is not an issue that we recall having had elsewhere. The room was modern and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We found the mattress to be on the hard side. There were plenty of plugs, there was adequate lighting and a room safe. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided as was a fridge with bottled water. We ate in the hotel on our first night and found the food to be very good. We had been confused that within the hotel itself there were signs referring to a Marco Pierre White restaurant, but it turned out that this had closed. The restaurant is now the Grainger. There was a good choice of self-service breakfast, and also a cooked menu. So the positives outweigh the negatives, and we would probably stay here again if we came back to Newcastle.

Room was mouldy and plaster coming off the ceiling, toilets are too far from room And not very clean also blocked 3 times in 2 days, then they take a deposit off you which is fair enough but find very petty excuses not to give you it back terrible service and very dirty place

Great location close to train station. Very clean modern hotel at a good price. Nice pretty chicks at the reception. Very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. Many attractions near the hotel. Snacks and drinks are available from the vending machine. There are code keys everywhere, which means that outsiders have limited opportunities to roam around the hotel. The only downside turned out to be that a room with a window means a room with a window to other windows from which other residents were staring.

Travelled as a group of friends for one night stay. Limited free parking but managed to get the last space. Hotel had no lifts and there were a lot of steps to the reception and then rooms were on 2nd floor. Staff did allow us to use a service lift which was helpful. Generally the hotel isn’t great for accessibility if you have mobility issues. Overall the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and staff very welcoming and friendly. En-suite bathrooms modern but other elements in the room were very dated. Mattresses not very comfortable and felt they needed a significant upgrade. For what we paid though and for 1 night it was good value for money. £15 in a taxi to Quayside in the city centre.

We attended a wedding at this hotel and booked through a link the bride gave us. The link did not work so we were charged full price for our stay. We had previously spoke to the hotel who said they would remove the discount for us on our day of arrival so we wouldn't miss out. On check-in the receptionist told us we would not be getting the discount as it had already been taken off the amount, it had not. They even tried to charge us £272 on check-in instead of £212 on my booking. We have ended up paying way more than we should and the hotel have not been able to give me a print out of the invoice which shows our discount. I have a print out of the room price but it does not show that a discount code was used orthat a discount is applied to the price. Terrible customer service as none of our questions have been answered and no reduction in our price. They are going to ”take on our feedback”. The reception are no help and certainly do not do their best to help solve a problem. The amount on my booking is also less than they charged me when I got there which means they have not even honoured the price it shows on my booking.

This hotel is not a place to stay for more than two nights. They do not clean your room and provide replenished supplies. You have to ask every time you need something, tissues toilet paper milk tea coffee clean towels soap. It is an hotel with many rooms but it seems as though there are only four disabled parking places close to the front of the hotel the last couple of nights the two disabled parking spaces were filled by expensive Porsches that did not display blue badges. Seems they think they can do what they like The parking is monitored by parking eye. Be careful as you may end up with a hefty parking charge from ******* like them It gets very noisy at the weekends, ask for ear plugs and they look at you stupid. Generally they could save a fortune by turning the hot water temperature down and using thermostatic mixer taps. The aircraft noise starts between 6am and 7 am. There seems to be a lot of secrecy you have to ask for menu’s then get told where to get it Be a good idea if they had menus in the rooms.food not bad reasonable price but would have liked menu in rooms Interesting caveats you don’t get a refund if you have a covid related issue or if Ukraine causes problems but they do not have any protocol’s in place about social distancing. The lifts are a free for all and there are no notices about about who should be in the lift . I think the rated capacity is 10 or 75 kg. I would like to see limits on lift capacity and stopping un related people entering the lifts. Three times I told people I did not want to share the lift but they still piled in so I left. One way to prevent this would be to not have interrupted journeys if you get in on floor 2 and want to go to ground floor do not stop at level 1. They seem to be more concerned with their profits than customer safety or protection. You can get rooms cheaper on other websites than their own checkin Would I be going back? ?? Not 100% sure yet but 99.99% I won’t be returning

We arrived at the hotel and thought it had a lovely feeling of being in a house rather than a hotel .we had booked a meal but were tired so they changed the time for a little later . The room was lovely , clean with a new bathroom .Bed was comfy and we couldnt hear much noise apart from creking floorboards which was to be expected in an old property . There were lots of personal touches like tissues on the beside table and bottles of water . We ordered the 2 course rump steak and. Belly pork which was delicious. Mine came with french fries and i would have prefered some veg and new potatos but i didnt ask so my fault .my partners belly pork was lovely . I had the french onion soup for starter and realy enjoyed and partner had the pate . We relaxed in the bar area with a coupe of drinks and the bill was very reasonable .prices on bar same as puc prices . We visit this area a lot to see family and would definately stay her again . Would be nice to sit on the garden in the warmer weather
GGuest UserI use a wheelchair & my daughter is my carer. So had an accessible room on the ground floor. We also had our dog with us. I have to say that all the staff across the board from top to bottom are so amazing. They are kind, caring, helpful and make time to listen if you need them. The breakfast is always fresh, hot & tasty. The room is always spotlessly clean & the bed is so comfortable. I would recommend this particular hotel to anyone. You are made to feel welcome & respected by every member of staff. Will return in the future, no question about it. A huge thank you to each & every member of the team. You are all amazing. Thank you for make our stay so memorable & wonderful.
GGuest UserIt was 40 quid a night for a twin so don't expect 5 star .. It was clean enough but wiffy in the toilet but for 1 night it done the job . Door lock was broken so had to improvise. Car park was dark and a bit spooky .. Staff were spot on tho
