Bearskin Lodge on The River

The room was large and had a loveseat as well as an oversized comfy chair. Had a balcony and a fireplace. Bed was comfy and shower was great. Covered parking was a plus. Gathering around the firepit down by the pool was a relaxing fun time. Front desk young lady was very helpful and an asset to this hotel property. Great quiet location.

Clean and friendly Staff. Conveniently located to everything. Walking distance. Didn't it have to use car except to drive to National Park. Would recommend to friends and family.

I stumbled across Bearskin Lodge while planning our trip to Gatlinburg and was immediately intrigued by its appealing combination of location, affordability, and outstanding reviews. Bearskin Lodge is a quaint little property that feels like a step back in time - a simple lobby and a small amount of staff (some being family members), comfortable rustic rooms, and a convenient location. While the town of Gatlinburg was a bit more commercialized than we expected, we had no regrets about our choice of hotel and honestly found it to be the best part of our trip. Probably the best part about Bearskin is its location - the proximity to the Smoky Mountains Trailhead (a two-minute walk from the hotel entrance) truly couldn’t be beat. The property is also roughly a five minute walk to the start of shopping / attractions on the Parkway. The rooms were fairly spacious and decorated in theme with the surrounding area; not sure I’ve ever seen actual hardwood floors in a hotel room! We enjoyed relaxing on our balcony that overlooked the river (though sadly no bear sightings), as well as unwinding by the fireplace in the room. The daily breakfast offered a good selection (the seating area was cute though could get a bit crowded at times) and we also appreciated the afternoon refreshments in the lobby. Should we return to Gatlinburg in the future, we wouldn’t hesitate to book Bearskin Lodge again.

Just wonderful all the way around. Friendly, helpful staff, clean, great location. Right in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains!

Loved this place. Have not been to Gatlinburg in many years. This by far was the best stay. So relaxing. Just loved the fireplace and balcony. Very clean and beds so comfortable. Only regret was it was a one night stay on our way home from Mississippi. Hope to go back soon. Employees were are wonderful. Breakfast area was small but not a problem as I mostly have coffee. Great area close to National Park Entrance.

My wife and I had a great time and experience in Gatlinburg staying at the Bearskin Lodge, our first stay here. The staff was very present and helpful. The room was a large 1 bed queen with working AC and gas fireplace – very clean room. The TV was a 65 inch LED with easy TV channel listing. The room also had a balcony directly over the creek made of water running down the mountain. Bearskin is very convenient to Crockett Breakfast and next door to Peddler Steak House both are also very good places to eat. It has the feel of being in Gatlinburg. We will stay at Bearskin Lodge on out next visit

Jennifer at the front desk was amazing and so welcoming. She greeted us with a huge smile and was ready to answer all of our questions. The rooms were very clean and they didn’t have carpet(major plus for me). The free breakfast was amazing and stayed well stocked. Definitely will be staying here again!

Lovely staff, clean rooms, location right on the edge of the park is excellent! Enjoy the rooms with fireplaces. Adjacent to the Sugarlands Visitor Center in the GSMNP. An excellent launchpad to the town and park. It is quieter due to location at edge of town.

This place is amazing, super nice, clean, and everyone was so sweet,, breakfast was descent .. we stayed in a king with balcony then moved to a double queen with balcony because we decided to extend our stay … we will definitely be back with family …
