Bear Creek Inn Gatlinburg, TN

I really like the creek, but the flashing lights from the hotel at night were a disappointment. The condemed house across the creek was quite an eyesore with lots of garbage. Otherwise great little hotel for a good price and the creek drown out any noise for good sleep.

Inexpensive stay -- how you'll feel about it depends on how much you value the creek outside the room, versus the subpar room itself. The creek is pretty with a relaxing rushing water sound, and for a few hours at night there are colored lights that add to the experience. The water itself is not accessible from the property -- it rushes too fast to be safe anyway. There's a balcony overlooking it from your room, which would be wonderful on warm days, altho there is no privacy. The walk to downtown Gatlinburg is doable for most in 5-10 minutes. The downside is that the room itself was small, worn and not very clean. And my standards as a single guy aren't that high... The TV got a seemingly random selection of only a dozen or so channels, with no ESPN or many other standard options. No desk so I had to use the ironing board for my computer work. On the plus side, the wifi was very strong. To be fair, I did get the cheapest room category, so others may be in better condition. However I don't get the feeling there's a lot of attention to detail here. But I have to say that creek is nice!

Beds were comfortable. Rain shower was very nice and plenty of hot water. Most pleasant was the amazing rushing creek and the relaxing sound of it even from inside the room. Room was nice size. Not a lot of the normal amenities but the site location and relaxing atmosphere from the terrace makes it a place worth returning to. Very old property but no unpleasant odor like musty or dampness.

Property had a front and back door. Love the balcony with rushing stream of water...white noise of water was music to my soul. Had everything I needed and didn't break my bank...great value. I would definitely do this again

Water pressure in shower stinks. Having long, thick hair, took forever to get shampoo/conditioner rinsed out. And temp of shower not very hot. Bathroom sink water got hotter than shower. A dirty washcloth from previous guest was on shower curtain rod behind curtain (maid missed) Other than that, for the price, you can't beat it. Nice location on creek. Easy walk to Gatlinburg *****. Clean enough. Staff friendly.

The room was on the first floor. It had a balcony next to other rooms. There is a nice creek going through the back. Balcony room we had wasn't very private but nice.

Quaint little place nestled along side a river with 1st floor balcony views. Approximately 1/4 mile from main shopping area. Rooms are clean. Property needs some maintenance repairs but overall felt safe and very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Really nice balcony over a creek. Slept with sound of creek flowing. Creek was higher due to recent rain. Off the main parkway location. Basic clean room. Great Value. Thanks

The property was conveniently located to downtown Gatlinburg and attractions-walking distance and free parking. Close to shuttle stop if needed. Room had a balcony that directly overlooked the river. There was no closet or anywhere to hang up clothes. The room was dusty and floors need mopping. Bathroom was clean and they replaced towels and sundries daily. Linens were clean and no bugs (except one spider…it’s near trees.) *comfortable place to shower and sleep*
