Alpas Siargao

The experience was worth the money. We stayed in their dorm type room for 8 but we occupied the entire room due to restrictions imposed by LGU which is good. The room has no ac but you wont need it specially at night and when its raining it gets chilly if you live in a tropical island but gets hot when the sun is out in the morning but most of the time we were out exploring the island so we only stayed to sleep. They have common bathrooms and loo. Its alright, clean but one of the showers doesnt have heater. Free breakfast is fine dont expect a fancy breakfast from a hostel. Its just a bread with options of egg or jam but their coffee is really good. Staff are really nice too. They have accomodated our requests and we felt at home to extent that we have extended our stay. I suggest this place if you are not picky. Very homey/province life vibe. I enjoyed our stay, its like going home and staying at my granny’s traditional nipa hut. Loved it!

The hostel itself is pretty unassuming. Small sign out front tells you where to turn. Staff was super friendly and very helpful. Free breakfast is basically just a sandwich and coffee so there's room for improvement there. Kahit man lang tapsilog and coffee. The coffee was good though. It's near restaurants and that is good. But they don't open until 11am so make sure to scout for places to eat if you're an early riser. It's also near Kermit pizzeria, maybe a 15-20min walk. The room was clean and ambiance was great. Mattress was firm. The bathroom was the highlight of the room as it was an open air type bathroom. Take a shower or do a #2 in the open air, looking at the stars. You get the drift. Takes getting used to but fun. This bathroom is only for the ground floor rooms in case you're interested. Shower was broken and semi functional. At least it was working well enough for water to come out of it. I did not like the large open window type sliding doors serving as the main entrance though. But that's just me. You have two large curtains to cut yourself off from the outside world so I guess that was ok enough. But a large pet peeve is the internet connection/free wifi. It's super slow like it barely worked. Wifi didn't reach our room had to go hang out outside and be eaten alive by mosquitoes. Otherwise it's just your run of the mill hostel, nothing spectacular. Could be better. Score would improve dramatically with a good breakfast and fast wifi.

Lovely, large 10 bed dorm with so many cool chill out areas. There were comfy hammock chairs, couches, drying racks, and an (albeit small) rooftop area. The staff were incredibly helpful with any issues and the front desk was staffed 24/7 with locals who shared the island's relaxing vibe. The aircon and lights went out for a solid 1.5 hours one night and it was very very hot, but there was nothing that could be done. I would suggest stronger aircon and fans, as, due to location of the aircon in the corner of the back floor, it didn't quite circulate into the top of my bunk bed. There was locked boxes available behind your pillow which had a lovely space for keeping all necessary items close by, with two power points in easy access. The main party areas were about a 6 min walk away, and there was a mini mart rihgt outside the door with x2 other dessert places across the road. Free water was always available, but it was warm. Enough space to park bikes outside. The curtains in the dorms were great to maintain privacy, It was very very noisy with bikes and karaoke nearby, but even with the earplugs provided by staff, I couldn't sleep until after 12 each night.

A place where you can chill vibes with and find some cool peoples. Spent 2 weeks here, surfing and meeting new friends, staff are great and they serve drinks late into the night. Accomodation is comfortable and I love the Siargao vibes, super authentic! Will be back soon!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I don’t know where to start first with this place. The staff are extremely rude and have a dog that they lock behind the reception desk that cry’s all day and night so loudly that you will be able to hear it from down the street. The karaoke bar next door starts at about 6pm and wraps up well after mid night which makes it so hard to sleep even with earplugs. There was no hot water/hardly enough water pressure to wash. We had very loud construction next to us also which started early every morning. Pieces of ceiling was falling and leaving dirt on our bed. When we consulted with staff about our issues they refused to help/listen at all despite us trying to explain very politely why we couldn’t stay here anymore. My friend and I ended up moving accommodation completely and did not receive and kind of apology, understanding or refund from rude staff members. Just avoid it this place all together!!
