Nice hotel, probably for a 5* I expected something more. The standard double room is practical but not large. Same thing for the bathroom. I rate it more a 4* superior than a 5*.
Negative note the breakfast: 18 euros each, and the coffee or cappuccino was not with a bar machine but with a self-service automatic which I did not like. I expected much more, at least from the breakfast

We had a bit a taff day when we arrived at the Meliá in Genova as we had an accident which made us waiting 8 hours at the hospital… From the moment we left the car just outside the hotel to be parked…and we walked in the hotel we felt 100 % home. The reception team was very friendly and helpful as we had to re-organise and book an additional room, etc. We got an room upgrade which was really appreciated - especially be the girls. Spontaneously we invited friends to join for dinner - and the restaurant team prepared a table for all of us. And we all had a delicious dinner. After a deep sleep in a very comfortable bed we enjoyed the breakfast which was very nicely presented. An hour at the Spa rounded up the very nice experience at the Meliá in Genova. Leaving with the car which was brought back from the secure garage - superb. Once again: a big thank you from all of us for everything and also to everyone! We can highly recommend this hotel, the food, etc. but most importantly due to the nice people welcoming us at the reception, bar, restaurant, spa, etc.

Hotel was fine, I was misled by the ******* pictures in to believing there was a hot tub for guest use when it was only the suite. I also paid for spa access which caused the front desk staff several minutes of confusion for some reason even though it clearly said spa access paid for they had to take my phone and take several minutes delay for the check in process which was slightly unprofessional. Bathroom was very uncomfortable as it was tiny and I barely fit on the toilet. I am a small female and that bathroom is just way too small for any adult human. Nice amenities like slippers and the bed was very comfortable and quiet. Rooms very soundproofed and valet service was excellent.

This is one of the more expensive hotels in Genova which I booked as a treat for me and my team. Unfortunately it did not meet expectations. The check-in was overly complicated and long which wasn’t a good start. The rooms are pretty basic for the price and as per usual in Europe too hot with the a/c turned off during winter (no matter how mild it is!). The bar is very nice with a good selection of drinks and the restaurant served up some delicious meals for dinner and breakfast. Overall disappointing given the price and I would not stay here again.
