The room that specially designed. Also is my first hotel that provides ceiling fans on top of air conditioner, allowing customer to switch based on their preferences. Strategic location, stone throw distancr to penang chendul. Staffs are friendly. Highly recommended

the mosque beside the hotel made it really hard to sleep with their morning prayers. other than that, staff is very friendly and attentive to our queries. do note that the pharmacies in this area close early but there are many souvenir shops and eateries nearby, eg the famous penang chendol !

Very cosy heritage hotel in the middle of Georgetown. Nicely upkept. The ambience is very cooling and relaxing despite the hot weather outside. It's location is ideal, near to all good food recommended on internet, Komtar, malls and Chowrasta. An absolute gem!

The location of the hotel is superb as it is in the heart of Georgetown! However, designated parking lot is not provided at the hotel.

Beautiful space with Peranankan vibes. Lots of interesting textures. Love the spacious and comfortable room. Teabreak was tasty as well.

Good location but it located near event hall. I found a loud noise until midnight. Hotel is near the mosque too and you will heard the worship at 6am. everyday but I think it’ s OK because of too short and shown Penang multicultural. Staffs are very nice. They will say Hi with you every times we meet. Room is so big and clean.

Conveniently located in the heart of George town. Friendly staff that goes the extra mile to get gummy bear for my boy. Love the colour glass in our room. Nostalgic ambience.

Customer service is good. Receptionists are helpful and friendly. The free teabreak is nice too. Location is near to all the famous street food and market. The popular chendol is just opposite the hotel. Bus stop for free city tour bus CAT is also a minute walk away. Chowrasta market is nearby.

Prior to my stay, I have been conversing with hotel staff via email about transport from airport to hotel. Responses were fast and prompt. On the arrival day, the transport didnt arrive and as I dont have the hotel contact numbers, I emailed to Areca hotel and was surprised my email was attended promptly. The transport arrived shortly (1 hour after schedule) and we reached the hotel before 12 pm. At the hotel, we were promptly attended by 2 staff and understand from them that the transport was outsourced and there was miscommunication. We were allowed early check in without much negotiation. Good service recovery. The hotel also provided complimentary afternoon tea for each pax. Nice heritage hotel. All the staff attentive and courteous and their service were great. They offered good suggestions on food and sightseeing options around Georgetown.

Excellent hotel with really friendly staff. Room is big, clean and comfortable.

We were given the room right next to the cafe which is not as nice as we are greeted in the morning by the loud sound and smell from the kitchen. No privacy for couple travellers like us and being next to a public access area. But the service from the front desk is very good with the rustic design which I appreciate a lot. The area is also easily accessible to many attractions, with the famous roti hutton just beside the hotel
