"The hotel room I rent is suitable for those that are not demanding, don't need a TV and window. Use our own toothpaste and toothbrush as it is not supplied. Very clean. No smell. The parking lot got to pay using a touch and go card. Not free at all."

"1. Counter staffs are nice and approachable. 2 if have budget concern, this hotel can consider. 3. Location is near to police station and safe to go. And convenient to move around. However. 4. This hotel did not meet my requirements, I wanted a room away from lift, in the end, I got a room just beside lift, a lot of lift door open and close sound. I booked a room with window, when open the door, I saw a wall with black mouldy. 5. I booked a twin bedroom, got pillows have mouldy. 6. The room only have one trash bin in toilet. 7. Nil bottle based water but u ca chose to boil water. To note: pls remind counter staff during check in if u paid tourism tax during the booking, otherwise, there may be a double charge."

"Staying at The Royale Chulan Penang at the end of the year, I was immediately struck by the hotel's exquisite environment. The understated luxury decor combined with immaculate attention to detail truly conveyed a sense of high-end quality. But the most memorable part of this trip was the warmth provided by a lobby staff member named Devika. Her fluent Mandarin made communication effortless. From the thoughtful guidance during check-in to her meticulous assistance when I checked out on December 13th, everything made me feel incredibly comfortable. Before I left, she proactively helped me call a taxi and confirmed the vehicle details; these thoughtful gestures alleviated the fatigue of travel. ”Malaysian Hospitality” is not just a slogan in Malaysia; it's a genuine sentiment that Devika embodied through her actions. This warm service added an invaluable memory to my trip to Penang. Facilities: Good Cleanliness: Good Environment: Good Service: Excellent, especially the female staff member named Devika in the lobby. She speaks Chinese and provided exceptionally good and attentive service."

"Check in lobby was hard to locate as it was at the side of the hotel block. Upon check in, I was given third floor. When I asked if I could have higher floor as indicated in my booking request, staff said I need to top up. This was clearly upselling. I was not willing as the price for each room was not cheap in the first place. Staff knew that i was aware it was the bottom tier room & mentioned the freebis in the room was npt charged. I was not impressed as I do not come all the way to Penang for some freebies. Hptel staff obviously did not know what hospitality is all about.Entering the room, it was not too bad. When I opened the window, I almost flipped out. It was rubbish (attached a pic). I then confirmed I was given the bottom tier room. Opening the wardrobe, there was a musty oily smell which obviously was not aired for a while. Stay at room was not comfortable. Badly lit and no way to open window to rubbish view. I guess the only good thing was the shuttle to the various shopping/ eating spots. Upon check out, i was asked if stay was good. I indicated to the staff my stay at the hotel was disappointing due to the above reasons. Staff said i could email the hotel in advance in my next visit indicating the reason above. But I will like to tell the management this -- no way am i coming back to this hotel that only know to upsell & missing out on what true hospitality means. There are hotels out there that offer much better services without breaking the bank. Thanks but no thanks."

"The hotel is quite large with convenient parking, and there are many great restaurants nearby. Some attractions are even within walking distance. If I get the chance to visit Penang again, I'll definitely choose to stay here."

"2nd time visit this year. Love the location but the best is the staff who were all friendly. Maybe because of school holidays and company trips, the hotel was full occupancy. Long queue for breakfast and things were not replenished or breaking down. The next day when they left was much better. That said, still have to give my praises to the staff who worked extra hard during peak period"

"Everything is good, except there is no bidet in the toilet. Location wise is very good. Malls were just next door. Walking distance to Cecil street marlet for breakfast and Kimberly night market for dinner. Next to komtar Top and there is a nearby michelin nonya restaurant as well. Room is well maintained n clean. Had a cake at the Hotel cafe but doesnt really taste nice, can skip though 😅 Otherwise, everything is good."

"The room is spacious or I should said empty. The picture showed a sofa for each bed room but there isn’t. During our stay the bar light with the base (about 50-60cm long) dropped from ceiling and nearly hit my sister in law. Lucky nobody got injured. Limited facility: pool and 2 washer and 2 dryer. Housekeeping team finish changing towel and clear rubbish within our breakfast time. I think they vacuum too coz the floor looks clean. Room service for additional towel and water was splendid, their service crew is good. Well overall is a wonderful stay despite an accident happen but most important no one was hurt."

"We stayed in G Hotel Kelawai for 5 nights. The hotel is between two shopping malls - Gurney Plaza and Gurney Paragon. Excellent location. Another hotel nearby (about 400m) is G Hotel Gurney. Both the hotels' guests are given the option to use each other's facilities and guests are given the flexibility to have their breakfast at either hotel without any advanced notice. By the way, G Hotel Gurney is the older hotel and is directly connected to Gurney Plaza, whereas G Hotel Kelawai is less crowded and quieter, which we liked. The breakfast variety is acceptable for guests who are on a short stay. Out of curiosity, we wanted to try out the breakfast at G Hotel Gurney but were prevented from doing so because of the heavy rain. Upon request, hotel guests can commute between the two by the hotels' buggy. The 25-m swimming pool and gym in Kelawai were hardly used. Clean and well-maintained rooms."

"Hotel was clean and service was very good. Room was large and comfortable . Swimming pool on eleven floor is a plus on hot days. Good view of the town and the sea from our room. Strategic location in the heart of Georgetown. Close to Komtar, First Avenue Mall and Pragin Mall. Short walk to Cecil Market and Chowrasta Market with many eateries nearby selling Penang local delicacies."
