Although the hotel is a bit far from the JR station, the free taxis provided by the hotel are very convenient for travelers. There is a convenience store near the hotel which is convenient for buying snacks for late night snacks. The breakfast and dinner provided by the hotel are also very delicious. Although the hot spring is not big, it is not crowded.

The location of the hotel is a bit difficult to find. We missed the small intersection twice by car before we found it. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic and helped us carry our luggage and park the car in the underground parking lot. Although the hotel has a history, it is still very clean and tidy. It's not too big, but it's OK. The private bath is a bit small. Breakfast and dinner are both delicious.

The food is of high quality and the waiters are very nice. However, the hot spring in the room is a bit thin, which is a bit disappointing!

The hotel is settled in the middle of Gero Hot Spring town, short walk from the train station and can also be reached via bus from Kamikochi area. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. You can feel the spirit of older times in this hotel with a lot of beautifully selected decoration pieces. The manager showed us around and even offered us a new room since I accidentally booked one without shower (we declined that offer since we only wanted to stay for one night). That’s why we used the Onsen area for showering which is beautiful and includes all amenities. View above Gero and including an outside Onsen area to watch the sunrise. The staff was very friendly, the manager even drove us to the bus station since we forgot our jackets in the bus. The bar is well-equipped and a great place for a drink or two. One of the best parts was the breakfast. Never had such a good Japanese breakfast before- delicious, served in a private room, beautifully arranged. Next time we want to try their dinner :-) We felt like family and I can recommend anyone going to Gero to stay at this great hotel! Thanks again for your hospitality!

The staff is rude and hates Chinese people. They said they couldn't find my reservation and kept trying to ask me if I had canceled the order. After checking for a long time, I said I found it. I booked an 8-tatami Japanese-style room with an open-air bath in the Moriyama Building. The order confirmation and online pictures are consistent. The hotel gave me a Japanese-style room without an open-air bath. I complained to the staff in the room and said they did not accept it. The room type I paid was completely different from the room type provided by the hotel and was unacceptable. And in all order confirmations, pictures of this room type in online bookings on Trip.com, and other online booking websites, this room type and price are all paid for with an open-air bath. The employees kept telling me that it was absolutely impossible, and their attitude was very bad and unfriendly. I repeatedly said that I couldn't accept it. Finally, I found the order confirmation email. The confirmed room type was bilingual. It clearly stated in Chinese and Japanese that it was an open-air bath. The hotel staff could not deny it and made many irresponsible excuses. Any attempt to shift the blame onto me and Trip.com. is unreasonable and absolutely unacceptable. In the end, it only took 10 minutes to change the room to one with an open-air bath. I can't help but feel that they are deliberately defrauding tourists. It completely destroyed my mood and expectations of the entire trip. In summary...this is an extremely bad experience. The facilities and food of the hot spring hotel are average. There are very few sanitary products provided. The hot spring bath is very small. The employees are deliberately deceptive, irresponsible, dishonest, and have a bad attitude and impoliteness. I have never encountered such a bad hot spring hotel. I will never visit again or recommend this hot spring hotel👎🏻
