"My first onsen experience was truly amazing! Kaiseki dinner was exceptional and unique - I’ve tried a lot of new dishes that I’ve never heard of. Staff was nice and friendly, transfer was waiting for us right at the exit of train station. Must visit site to feel the real onsen experience with rich history and traditions!"
Suimeikan
"The building is relatively old fashioned, but room were clean. 3 onsen available in the hotel. Ours comes with Kaiseki dinner, and it was delicious. Parking plenty for guests"
Gero Onsen Yamagataya
"Excellent value for money. Service is fantastic and the room is newly renovated."
Bosenkan
"As always japanese service is excellent, they are very polite and friendly. However, even with their exceptional service, it could not compensate for the poor quality of the hotel. I like the size of room, the view, and the service. This is by far the worst of my Ryokan or on-sen hotel experience. First, the hotel is so stringy since they offer very limited services in the service. There is no free water (no free drink at the on-sen that most hotels will provide after finishing bathing), no free skincare products (even in the public bath), no enough activities in the hotel (only cartoon room, table tennis and kid room). Second, the breakfast and dinner is very disappointing. Taste is ok but the quality and the quantity is very questionable why I would spend this much for these meals. Finally, they provides only 1 outdoor and 1 indoor on-sens for each male and female which is very unfortunate. The facilities need Hugh improvement. I would come back to Gero again but not stay in this hotel."
Ogawaya
"All good . Very nice room with good location and breakfast. Also free shuttle bus to/from JR station"
Hotel Kusakabe Armeria
"Very nice hotel with old charms, amazing experience with the cable car elevator. Bar and buffet both offers nice meals. Public bath is spacious. Highly recommended!"
Kawakamiya Kasuitei
"Looked expensive at my first glance. Howwver acknowledged it is worthwhile in 10min. after checkin. Dinner is a must try here. Best romantic experience ever"
TAOYA Gero
"Excellent service , view, hot spring and meal 👍👍👍"
Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Gero Honkan(Old:Yukai Resort Premium Gero Saichoraku Honkan)
"The buffet-style meals were excellent in both portion size and taste. We had a room on the 6th floor facing the river, and the view was also wonderful."

"My wife and I took a relaxing trip to Gero Onsen. It's a traditional Japanese inn. My wife was a little dissatisfied because the hairdryer had weak airflow, but the bathwater was absolutely fantastic, more than making up for it."
Gero Onsen Gero Royal Hotel Miyabitei
"The hotel room has traditional Japanese style decoration, it is clean. Female and male onsen will be swapped early in the morning and night time, so we got to experience outdoor and indoor onsen. Hotel service is good."
Miyako
"This is an inn where you can relax and enjoy good hot water and delicious food. I think it is recommended for couples and friends. On that day, I was able to enjoy the view of the full moon from the bathroom in my room. Both dinner and breakfast are satisfying meals. Since it was my birthday month, I was able to get some wine. This is a thoughtful inn."
Toraya Inn
"Perfect little hotel with opportunity to book private onsen. I really recommend it!"
Hida Kanayama Nukumori no Sato Onsen
"The hotel doesn't have many rooms, but the hot springs are very comfortable. There's a restaurant on site with delicious food, and the surrounding environment is beautiful, right next to a stream. The staff are also very attentive in explaining the hotel information. I recommend staying here."

"This is my second visit to Gero, this time with my parents, booked a two-bed accommodation, a three-person room, a two-person room, because it coincided with Saturday other hot spring inns prices have risen a lot, finally chose this hot spring inn, price is relatively reasonable, although this inn is not large, But the meals and hot spring facilities are good, after soaking in the hot spring and free massage chairs to sit, the elderly are very satisfied, but the elderly need to pay attention, if not by car, from the hot spring street to the inn will have a slope, for the elderly will be strenuous"
Gero Onsen Hanarenoyado Tsukinoakari
"First of all, I only stay at high-end inns. This inn has separate rooms, so I went there with my family, and I was surprised because the person at the front desk was calling guests by their room number, 803, etc. When I came later, they didn't greet me. The person carrying the baggage appears without a word and only carries light items. My husband carries the heavy bag. Impossible . Just bring your luggage with you💢 What's more, they leave without handing over the room key. I'll bring it later. Should I bring it normally? ? The hair dryer in the room sounds like it's broken when you bend it, and it smells like a burnt old dryer. This is the first time I feel more comfortable. Moreover, there were no body towels, noisy air conditioner, and no tea or water in the refrigerator. Even if it's free, it's usually available 💦 Don't put it even if it's paid. Asahi tea is bad for vending machines. Few types. The futon was just barely enough for my 158cm feet, and for people older than that, their feet would stick out. By the way, the hotel is far away and the welcome drink is matcha. There's no need for matcha, and apparently the kids don't even have drinks (°ㅂ°💢) Since there are 3 people staying, we should prepare enough for 3 people. I asked the landlady to improve it. The rice was tasteless and I had chawanmushi in the morning, but it would be nice to have tempura or chawanmushi at night. There's only cold food. Dessert was also tasteless. On the way home, I found Otoya and went in. It was better there. For the time being, this inn is definitely not available. Isn't 40,000 per person too much? Unfortunately, the food and service were all poor."
Gero Koyokan Annex Wanpakutei
"Very nice place near and services .. If you are a pet lover you stay with your pets at the hotel ryokan type, Japanese style hotel. With shuttle service from the train station to hotel.. Just call at the hotel on the time you arrive at the train station. There is an information at the train station so you can ask a help how to call the hotel, the staff there will help you.🤗"
Breezbay Hotel & Resort Gero
"The food was a buffet and was delicious. The welcome drinks and beer were great."
Hotel Miki
"This is the best onsen hotel we’ve stayed in, among those we’ve stayed in for the past 12 years! We stayed here for 2 nights. We’ve extremely grateful to the hosts for their outstanding service and hospitality from the heart. Loved the thoughtfully varied menu for each meal. The establishment is spotlessly clean and excellently maintained. Each morning, our towels and yukata (hotel gowns) were replaced. So were the amenities ( fragrant green tea packs, snacks). The housekeeping staff even offered to mop our rooms after only one night’s stay. The wifi was also fast and sustained well in the guest room and public lounge areas. There are facilities to cater to a wide range of age groups from seniors like us and children too. There were ample resting chairs in the lounge and on the way to the historian’s well as guest rooms. The best facility was the hot springs! They are exactly as depicted in the hotel website. Numerous indoor pools of various temperature all have the renowned ‘beautifying’ odorless alkaline water. My skin felt so smooth and moisturized after only one soak. What’s more the hot springs stay open for in-house guests from 10.30 am to 11 pm and day-trip visitors from 10.30 am to 8 pm. In-house guests can also use the hotsprings early from 6 to 9 am. There is a European dry sauna as well as wet steam rooms in both make and female hotspring areas. We would love to stay here again!"

"The view was amazing, and the hospitality was fantastic. The panoramic view of the mountains and the Hida River from the high ground from the windows was truly amazing. My husband, who loves trains, was very impressed to be able to watch the trains passing over the iron bridge. It was a surprise for him as he had no idea about it. The hallway to the private dining room was also an exciting, wonderful space that gave us a taste of the extraordinary, and we were also impressed by the hospitality of the waitresses. Each dish of food was carefully prepared and delicious, and healthy for our bodies. We would definitely recommend this inn to others."
Gero Onsen Yukyunohana
"Nice food and staff. Good experience."
Suihoen
"I will give 11 points out of 10. Very good food and excellent service, the outdoor hot spring on the top of main building is very nice and elegant. I will definitely go back if i visit this area again."
