The Tillie Pierce House Inn

We always love to stay at Tillie Pierce. It is always great to be in the town of Gettysburg PA.

Bob was an amazing host and knew so much history about the Inn and the town! Will definitely stay again!

This is our first stay at a BnB in which the innkeeper was not the owner. The inn has the potential to be a remarkable experience, but misses the mark. The good: It is centrally located in Gettysburg with only a short walk to the center of the town. Our room was a suite of 4 small rooms (breakfast, sitting, bath, bed. Off-street parking behind the inn was convenient and easily accessible. The innkeeper, Gail, was friendly and informative, knowing a lot about the history of Tillie Pierce. The other: Our suite could have used a thorough vacuuming. The bedroom was cold and the rear entrance should have a door sweep to keep the draft out. Our departure was not extremely early, but there were no breakfast items available, only snacks from the prior day. While the price we paid would be reasonable for the suite, we thought it was overpriced based on the conditions we experienced.

The Innkeeper, Bob, was very pleasant and accommodating. Each room had their own bathroom and there were snacks and drinks available at all times. It was conveniently close to the festivities on the square on New Year's Eve.

Single rooms that are named after women of Gettysburg, during the battle. Was clean and comfortable. Our room faced Baltimore St. and was on the second floor. There was a TV, in community room and a sitting room, on first floor. Handmade breakfasts, were very good and homemade baked goods were available all the time. Parking in rear of the house.

I've always driven past the Inn and wanted to stay there. I was here for two days,and enjoyed every moment. I had the first floor room and there were no other guests at the inn, so it was wonderful. The hosts Gail and Bob were very kind. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon one morning and French toast , strawberries and bacon the second morning. If you're a light sleeper, you may want to bring ear plugs to tone down the traffic noise from Baltimore street....I always have a set with me for this reason. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Wow, such a unique story (Tillie Pierce's) of not just the battle of Gettysburg but of the town and it's civilians afterward. We bought the book that she wrote (available at the B&B) and read it aloud and it gave CHILLS as we realized that the things we were reading happened RIGHT THERE. Great way to connect the civilian experience with the overall history. The facilities aren't the poshest - no raised pinkies here - but it was clean and comfortable and all we needed!

So needs a good deep clean. The house is a lovely old building and whilst the hosts were very kind the place needs a deep clean. The dust on lights, mirrors etc is hard to miss. Someone else’s hair on the supposedly clean towels . The lighting needs updating and the bAck garden could do with some work. Plus side is it’s within walking distance from the centre of town and near to eating places. I wish I could have written a better review but this place needs help !
