Very outdated! Bed uncomfortable. Pillows like a brick. Curtain ring unhooked. Plus lets light in even when closed. Carpets old worn and grubby. I cleaned bathroom straight away. Shower useless. Bath taps hard to reach as a shower partition would only move inwards so had to lean awkward to reach over to taps for bath. Toilet lid kept falling forwards.. Room very small for a twin. Not much space. Landlady polite only nice thing!

Our first visit to Girvan and stayed here based on TA’s reviews and we are surprised the hotel gets such positive reviews and such a high score. Girvan is a nice harbour town and the hotel is conveniently located for the town centre, the harbour, coastal walk and golf course. The lady who runs it is very nice and friendly, breakfast is good, a cooked breakfast has to be ordered the evening before but we didn’t find that a problem. The main issue was our bedroom, the bathroom, carpets and furnishings are a bit tired and dated and the over-bath shower worked poorly. Given TA’s reviews we had expected better

Expectations were high with a score of 9.2 but I was disappointed. Room a bit pokey, very odd matress & bedding, terrible shower. Decor throughout a bit tired. Residents bar very limited and nothing on draught. Breakfast was ok. On the plus side, staff were all very nice, location is quiet with a nice park opposite and there's enough parking. I'd stay again if in Girvan but can't say I'd look forward to it.

A really good guesthouse.
We arrived very early, but that was no problem for the owner.
Beds extremely comfortable. Great big bathroom, very clean.
Brilliant breakfast.
Yes, the stair carpet is a little worn, but that didn't detract from the place.

The hotel was very good, with friendly, hard-working and competent staff.
The breakfast was excellent - again provided by great staff.
Our only real problem was that our double room was small, with barely enough room for one suitcase - let alone two.
