There is also a 26-kilometer road from the centre of Glenorchy, and all are gravel roads. The car is a little worried to walk. People who live together are not driving, so it is not easy to come over. Everyone does not know that this hostel is so remote. Such a difficult road to go. However, the environment is very good and very quiet. The stars you see at night are not worse than tekapo. If it is not self-driving, it is recommended not to toss here. The supermarket is only available in the town center, and it is 26 kilometers, most of the gravel road. Think of this, just make a order in it. A little expensive, so a meal of 50 yuan, or something cold-cold, not used to eating. Eat your own food for dinner and cook in the public kitchen. Because it can't be rectified here, so the person who ordered it is relatively cautious, and booked a few days in advance, there are actually beds. Walk along the original trails along the lake and enjoy the peace.

Cannot believe how good this place was!... We ended up getting a private 8 bed dorm for 6 of us, the room itself got a little hot, but the staff quickly brought us a fan which helped massively. Toilets and showers were so well kept and the lounge, washing machines and drying rooms made the whole process so easy. Kitchen is absolutely huge and perfect if you plan to prepare you food there. But the staff were something else, unbelievably friendly and one lady even lent me 50c out of her own purse for the lockers, completely didn't need to do it but wanted to help me out!... An absolute gem! I will DEFINITELY be staying here again in future.

We are a family of three and we spent nine nights at the Crowne Plaza in Queenstown. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is in a great location but these are the only positives. We had complimentary breakfast for nine days but didn't eat it once during our stay. We attempted breakfast but it was well below average. I can recommend the orange juice but we much preferred to go elsewhere for our morning coffee and a bite to eat. We also ate at the restaurant on the first night but that was enough for us. This was also below average and we never returned during the remaining eight nights. The hotel is very much a three star hotel standard. It's an ageing property with small rooms and very limited hotel amenities. The hotel isn't cheap and I would say that it doesn't represent good value for money. This is one of the worst IHG hotels that we have visited. We were actually looking forward to leave, which was a shame as Queenstown itself is stunning. We are now spending a few nights in the Hilton Hotel in Auckland before returning to Australia. In all honesty we all had a huge smile when we checked in to the Hilton and felt so relived to be back in the type of hotel that we are used to.

There is free parking and free WiFi. There is a free shuttle bus to downtown Queenstown. The lady at the front desk is very nice. The bus leaves every hour from 9am to 8pm. The pick-up and drop-off points are the same. Figure 1 is where the shuttle gets off. Nearby is the Internet Red Burger.

I stayed in a spacious and simple one bedroom unit, just a few minutes walk from the bustle of Queenstown central and yet on a really quiet street. The unit was spotlessly clean and came with everything I needed for basic self-catering. The breakfast supplies (bread, jams, juice, yoghurts) and snacks (muffins, muesli bars) were a delightful surprise and set me up well for days of walking in the mountains. This isn't the flashiest place in Queenstown but is in a super-convenient location, had everything I needed for a 3 night stay and was really good value for money.

Lake view rooms are perfect. The hotel is ok and as a Mercure, pricing is reflective in the higher end. It’s about a 20 minute walk into town which is downhill. To many sherbets and coming back I would recommend a lift. The local bus is halfway down the hill also. Bar staff and restaurant staff are smiling and helpful. Front desk need to take some learnings from them. Dinner 1 night was a nice meal accompanied by a nice wine and very pleasant service. Breakfast….save your money and head into town. You are paying for the view. Pay as you go as you don’t want a surprise when you check out.

Located ten minutes from Queenstown, this is another hotel sold by the Robertson Brothers to Rosewood which took over in December. Located on the third biggest lake in NZ, Lake Wakatipu, it offers breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. Only 16 suites, all on the lake. The lodge features a nice swimming pool and spa, small gym and two treatment rooms. I had an amazing 75-minute massage, reserve well in advance. There is a nice walking trail to the lake and if you are inspired, a difficult walking and biking trail that goes forever. The main building is rather small and offers a too small seating area for canopies and drinks. The main dining room is small too especially if the lodge is full. Coveted window tables are on a first-come basis. Like Cape Kidnappers, outdoor seating is an afterthought. The view of the lake is hidden by plants and the few tables are basic and not inviting. The Robertson Brothers surely had issues with outdoor dining and I hope Rosewood resolves this. Food is good but not spectacular like Huka or Otahuna. The daily menu was very limited but the chef prepared most anything you wanted. Staff is attentive and friendly. We were fortunate to have Locky serve us drinks on our first night and at only 22 years old, one of the best in the hospitality business. He made the second night memorable. Overall: A step up over Cape Kidnappers but still operates like a chain that lacks personal touches. I do think over time Rosewood will update the property and bring it to world-class standards. Excellent for two nights.
