There's not alot of places to choose from that look halfway decent. It's close to the entrance to the national park. The front desk lady wasn't too friendly. To have our room ready earlier than checkin time was $25. I don't think she even checked to see if it was already ready. When we got to the room, the housekeeper did not make a good impression with us. His pants were halfway down his butt while cleaning rooms. Kinda disgusting. Didn't give us a good feeling about the cleanliness of the room and just the hotel itself. I don't think the bedspread and shams were washed. We didn't touch it. The other staff was very friendly. The pizza was very good at the restaurant in the hotel. It was nice they left a little treat for a birthday we were celebrating. Ample parking. It was fine for staying a night. I probably won't be back.

We stayed here for 2 nights to be close to friends who have a cabin nearby. They recommended it. We found it to be very clean and quiet. It's a basic accommodation, but totally adequate for a bargain stay in a beautiful location. We paid $191 for 2 nights for a room with 2 queen beds in Grand Lake, Colorado in August. That's an amazing bargain. If you're looking for a resort, go elsewhere. But if you want an inexpensive place to stay while you hike, explore Grand Lake or enjoy water sports, the Timberline Inn is fine.
