Hotel enjoys a good location on shore of Grasmere Lake and is a short walk from Grasmere Village. Good food and friendly and helpful staff

As we arrived we were welcomed by diago he was so helpful and friendly. We had a lovely drink on the terrace in the sunshine over looking the glorious lake .the spa was great , but there is no gym .we had a meal in bar area at night a bit more informal which suited us .Todo (if that’s how you pronounce it )the waiter went out of his way took look after us .i guess the long hours the staff work can take its toll so well done for looking after us . At breakfast there were all friendly and chatty .We will definitely be back . Martin 😄

The Daffodil is in a beautiful location, and our lake-view suite was spacious and clean. Breakfast was good quality, and the service was pleasant and efficient (although barista coffee was sadly unavailable). We ate a very tasty pizza for dinner in the Sitting Room (casual dining room). Ultimately though, the Daffodil felt a bit soulless and ‘cold’, with some questionable interior design/architecture choices. For example, the lobby bar (which sadly feels more like a hospital cafe than a 4-star hotel bar) is disconnected from the lovely outdoor terrace by a corridor. Can’t imagine why they wouldn’t want the bar opening out to the lakeside terrace! It was pleasant enough, but for a 4-star property in the Lake District, their “hard product” missed the mark.

From the moment we arrived everything was amazing, the room was spotless with an amazing view. Used the spa one afternoon and the receptionist Denise was very helpful and friendly. We also had breakfast and dinner with amazing views, all breakfast staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Thank you to the kitchen team for preparing the tomohawk steak board and surprise birthday plate

Fabulous location with variety of walking options from the hotel The weather was perfect, so we enjoyed the beautiful views from the hotel terrace, comfortable seating after our strenuous walk . Room was large, comfortable with quality wifi throughout stay. Bar, restaurant / food and service were excellent .

Great location right on the lake on the outskirts of Grasmere. The spa is small and I wonder what it would be like when the weather isn't is as glorious as it was when I was their - 10th to 12th May 2024. Food is genuinely of a high quality although not everything on pudding menu is great. A hight quality venue which I would recommend and will hopefully revisit in future for work or pleasure
