The Traveller's Rest ★★★
"We used the travellers inn as we wanted to see the grisdale tarn and we needed to a room to stay after the sight. They allowed us to store our luggage at the inn as our check in was at 3pm. The rooms were clean and it overlooked a farm area with lots of sheep. The room had an aesthetic look and there was tea satchets we could have as well. The staff were kind and wonderful. The rooms had the britain charm you see in old english movies. If you love sheeps, kind people, good food and 80's british aesthetics- then this place is just for you. We loved our stay here."
YHA Grasmere Butharlyp Howe ★★★★
"Great short stay here, just got back. Friendly and helpful staff, YHA meals were decent and good value for money, clean, safe and relaxed stay. Fantastic location and some great walking. Had a brilliant time."
The Daffodil Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"This is the third hotel I've stayed at in the Lake District. Overall, I'm satisfied, especially with the surroundings. The decor isn't luxurious, and the lobby and restaurant are relatively simple. However, the hotel faces Lake Grasmrer, offering beautiful views and a quiet, secluded feel. I booked a lake-view room, but a large tree blocked the window, which was a bit disappointing. The hotel restaurant is a bit on the high side, offering a slightly lower value than the other two restaurants I've stayed at."
The Swan at Grasmere- the Inn Collection Group ★★★★
"Superb hotel, the clerk is very warm and friendly, you feel very warm, the environment is very beautiful, the room is very large in the UK is rare. The breakfast was quite rich and I ordered a full English breakfast on the 1st. Parking is sufficient and free parking."
Rothay Garden by Harbour Hotels ★★★★
"The scenery is beautiful."
Heidi's Grasmere Lodge ★★★★
"We stayed in room 1 in Heidi’s which was a large room with an excellent en suite. The room was very clean and well laid out with everything catered for that you could need. Outside was a large balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the centre of the village. No parking is provided but there is plenty of parking nearby if you get there early enough. We used the ringgo app to pay for parking which was really simple to use and we parked directly behind the lodge. The hearty breakfast was superb in the cafe below setting us up well for the day. Craig was a fantastic host and the staff were excellent all round with lots of advice and local knowledge whilst making our stay feel very homely. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely return. G&T"
Victorian House ★★★★
"Wonderful rooms and service. Included might be the best I have ever had. Great location as well, between windermere and Keswick."
Moss Grove Organic ★★★★★
"We were given 2 free nights at the hotel due to a bad experience last year when my daughter cut her foot open on glass in the hot-tub in the 'suite' room!! We were there for 60th birthday celebrations which were pretty much ruined by this oversight in housekeeping. The suite room was ridiculously overpriced as the room was exceptionally dated, with decor and carpets that were well past the need for an update. The hot tub is in a dingy space out of the back of the room with a chipped old bistro set as furniture. We explained, as we were just outside the voucher window that this was due to ill health in the family and this was our first opportunity to come back to the hotel. Due to the serious incident last year this should not have been a problem in our opinion. We were not given the room we were promised last year as they said it was high season!! Had we been given the room promised we would have left as happier customers. Our room this year was equally dated and dark - room 6. The shower leaked all over the floor due to an ill fitting shower screen. Breakfast was, as last year a bizarre experience with not enough food out for people and not enough seating either in the dining room making it quite an unrelaxed start to the day. We had to cook our own eggs as the scrambled eggs looked inedible. Everyone goes into the kitchen and trots back to the dining room with their food - which is a very strange set up... The hotel is perfectly located in the lovely village of Grasmere which may contribute to complacency regarding the need for cosmetic update and meticulous housekeeping necessary especially when charging top dollar!"
Lake View Country House ★★★★
"Two night stay over New Year with our two young dogs. The Lake View was a perfect option - great location just a couple of minutes walk to Grasmere Centre. Breakfast taken at the Good Sport with the same owners, very helpful staff and good quality breakfast options. The Lake View itself had everything you could want for a relaxing peaceful staff. The management was hands off/off site I.e. everything: keys, additional towels, blankets, cofffee tea supplies etc available to take as needed. Communication and information all to hand. Contact numbers and all clearly to hand. Finally, everything needed for a ‘doggy stay’ was thought of.m and completely de-stressed."
