Stayed two nights in the "Cosy room."
Room was abit small but lovely and well presented, although I felt the room it's self wasn't fully cleaned. Their was a few cob webs on the ceilings, quite abit of rubbish under the bed and the shower had abit of mould on the sealant around the shower door.
Breakfast was lovely, with lots of variety and polite and friendly waiters.

Great location. Lovely house with lots of character. Breakfast excellent. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Loved the little treats in reception on arrival. Comfortable bed. Nice bath and shower. Lots of walks from the door. We parked up and never moved the car until we checked out 3 days later.

Extremely helpful receptionist prior to booking who went over and above to ensure we had a great stay. Freshly cooked breakfast to order - great coffee!! Super comfy beds and modern en-suite. Lovely sitting room and breakfast room to relax in along with the garden which edges the river. Boot room with sinks to clean/store walking boots after a day on the fells. Great value - helpful caring staff - perfect !

The hotel is ideal for people who like to hike but also sleep somewhere comfortable! It's a lovely building in a perfect location. The bedroom we had (11) had lots of period furniture etc but a top notch modern bathroom with lashings of hot water. The provision of a 'boot room' is genius and really helped us keep the mud and damp at bay! Parking is limited but the staff worked really hard to ensure we always had a space. Only slight issues were creaking from the room above, and a lack of a reading light - the bedside lamps were very dim.

We had a lovely stay in The Victorian House, beautifully set up, great location, perfectly clean and tidy, very stylishly presented and above all our host Alex is clearly going places in the hospitality world, she was so welcoming, nothing was too much bother and she projected an aura of being genuinely interested in us. The Breakfast room needs an espresso machine, everything else absolutely perfect.

Really comfy room, helpful and friendly staff, and great breakfast. We booked at last min when other accommodation was cancelled, we hadn't expected such a lovely place, room was clean and very comfortable, amazing hot shower was very welcome after long day walking. Boot room was great for getting the boots clean, and stored. Breakfast was fab, great selection and perfectly cooked. All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Wish we had been staying longer!

We were given a very warm welcome as soon as we entered The Victorian House. The place is beautifully decorated and the bedroom was luxurious with great views of the surrounding mountains. Breakfast was excellent.
