This is a beautiful property. We stayed here on our first night in Guatemala and 10 days later for our last night. The first room was adequate and had a non-chain hotel vibe. Very secure. Staff was helpful and forgiving of our minimal Spanish. The second room we stayed in upon returning to Guatemala City was awesome.

I stayed here for one night and I found it really pleasant and comfortable. The front desk staff were super nice and let me check in early (like 11am) because my room was ready. The property is very shady and quiet and it's walking distance to a few restaurants. The breakfast was pretty standard for Guatemala. My only tiny complaint is that there is only one lamp in the room, but otherwise, it's a really nice budget option in Guatemala city.

I stayed here because my dad was in the hospital at Centro Medico, and the hotel is an easy 1/2 km walk to the hospital (though I wouldn’t walk it at night-I used Uber to get back).
There’s a lot to like about the hotel: super clean with comfortable rooms, and very quiet. So why not give it 5 stars? There is no easy way to prevent housekeeping from making up your room and changing the towels, and no Do Not Disturb sign. It’s a waste. Twice the housekeeper left my ground floor window wide open when I had left it closed.

One of the cleanest hotels in Latin America. Great breakfast. If youre looking for a boutique stay not provided by absent investors or large foriegn chain, then Hotel Ciudad Vieja is your best option.

Great location. Restaurant in hotel plus several others across the street. Quiet. Wonderful staff. Beautiful grounds. Small and very relaxed spot. I would stay here again. Hot water. Felt safe and secure. Nice area with tables and chairs for beer and vine.

Nous avons séjourné une nuit dans cet hôtel, non loin de l'aéroport, car recommandé par le " Lonely planet". Notre expérience n'est pas mauvaise, mais à nuancer : personnel aimable, joli patio fleuri qui " coupe" de la ville, et on s'y sent en sécurité ( portes blindées, vigile). Nous souhaitions dîner sur place, mais on nous a informé que le restaurant ne faisait que des sandwichs le soir ( habituel ? exceptionnel ? je ne sais pas) ; au final, il y a 2 restaurants de l'autre côté de la rue et c'est là où nous sommes allés. le wifi nous a été facturé, certes une somme modique, mais il nous semblait qu'il était gratuit. un membre du personnel assure effectivement une navette vers l'aéroport tout proche, mais il nous semble que c'était cher : 18 USD ( au regard des prix durant tout notre séjour au Guatemala). La chambre était sans doute un peu plus basique que je ne le pensais, lit ferme, mauvaise insonorisation ( on entendait la conversation de la voisine dans sa chambre), et la fenêtre ne ferme pas. Salle de bain aussi assez basique sans rangement autour du lavabo. Au final, nous avons bien dormi, mais cela ne semblait pas évident au début vu la dureté des matelas. Le petit déjeuner était bon, la salle de petit déjeuner gagnerait à être redécorée, elle est très ( trop?) sobre, un peu triste.

This hotel is in a very quiet and safe area, and is overall very clean and convenient. The rooms are simple but the interior has a nice garden feel.
