Of course the greatness of the facilities and the deliciousness of the meal, but above all, I was happy with the warm response of the staff. It was a hotel that I wanted to go many times. The hotel is near Gujo Hachiman Jo castle. The mountain of the castle is one-way, but it branches on the way and goes to the hotel. The road is easy to understand because there is a standing tag. The hotel is large and the front lobby is also wide 々. The check-in response was kind and good. I explained that there was no public bath, but it would be because many people are asked. Free tea and orange juice and coffee service. Plus cups with ice are available. There is also a vending machine for conscientious price. The room is on the street side of the 2 floor. You can see the city and the castle from the room. There is a veranda and it feels a bit luxurious. The twin room is large 々, the TV is large, and there is a sofa and a table. The room is very clean. It is not new and colorful. The toilet is clean enough to be in. It is relaxing enough. The building can be made of yukata and slippers. I chose a plan with breakfast. You can choose the start time of 2 streets from 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. for meal preparation. Not a buffet style but a regular meal style. The rice and miso soup were free to be replaced, and it was full of dried rice and sukuba miso for one night. There is nothing near the hotel. You have to go up and down a steep slope to the city, but you should walk after a walk. It's not far. From the hotel to the castle, walk slowly on the one-way road for about 15 minutes. It is safe on the paved road. I was able to stay at a very good price whether it was the time or the day of the week. It is a hotel that I want to use next time.

The owners and staff were outstanding in providing service and making us feel welcomed. For example, because we had an early train and couldn't eat their breakfast, they made musubis for us to eat on the train. The location is ideal, being right next to the station. The room was typical for a ryokan and very neat and clean. The onsen was very good and accurately depictured in the photos. The water was silky smooth. We would stay there again if we return to Gero Onsen.

At the time of training in Gujo City, it is a hotel that I was able to find a time margin if I stayed overnight without going back to the observation and cleaning after the operation. There is also an annex ”hosen” for business guests, but the front desk is different and the room seems to be a lot lower. It is a Japanese room with 10 tatami mats, so you can use it as wide 々. There is a bus toilet in the room, but this is recommended for a large bath while looking at nature. I didn't think I went to the morning bath. It is also a favorite that there is a gum tape for extermination in the room because there is a large beetle. (incidentally, I exterminated three) Breakfast at the banquet hall was a small bowl in the net baking of koji and the miso baking of Mai cherry blossoms, and I ate the rice of the cherry blossoms. There is also a free transfer bus to sightseeing spots in Gujo city and Gujo Hachiman station, so it is safe for those who do not drive cars. It is said that local dishes such as HIDA beef and Gujo yagura are available for dinner, and it is a sightseeing hotel such as the experience of Gujo dancing and the theater of popular theater.

The most humane hotel I have ever stayed in. Very traditional Japanese style tatami hotel. The staff of the family business is very old and meticulous, and all kinds of snacks. There are public and private hot springs, very comfortable. In particular, I recommend the 700-year-old Japanese cypress made from the largest single tree stump in the United States. It is very creative. highly recommended. The breakfast is customized in a private mode, and the sample is not repeated every day. The only flaw is that the rooms are scattered.

I visited because I wanted to enjoy traveling within the prefecture during the coronavirus pandemic. I thought it would be in the countryside, which is also in Gifu prefecture, but I was able to visit unique local shops, the hotel was very clean, and I was able to have a happy trip in an environment that made me feel relaxed. I think this is a hotel where you can enjoy the flower festival and cityscape unique to this area!

I'm struggle to put my review in words cause I am amazed by the services offered by the hotel and the staffs. First of all, upon reaching Gero station from Nagoya station using Hida Line, we are thrilled by the surrounding atmosphere and we took our time snapping photos around not knowing that the hotel offers a free shuttle bus for all their customers. The driver waited patiently at the exit gate, holding the hotel sign board waiting for all customers to leave the Gero station. This is a real PLUS in our stays. After we checked in, the staff lead us to our rooms and explained to us on the facilities of the hotel and the staff helped to exchange the size of Yukata after studying our heights. Very observant and thoughtful. There are 3 different hot springs in the hotel and if you have time, you can visit all of them. You can always put on your Yukata and walk inside the hotel region, including the stunning Japanese garden. Just that, most of the services/shops in the hotel are closed on 9pm JST. Remember to plan properly. The room is very spacious with 2 comfortable beds, a small tatami region for you to enjoy your private Japanese tea time. We love the breakfast provided by the hotel as it offered variety of both Japanese and Western breakfast. There is a shuttle bus service (usually once per hour for instance 10am, 11am and 12 noon) to fetch the customers back to Gero station. The staff waved us good bye is another amazing experience provided by Japanese. It is just amazing feeling. Tips: 1. You can purchase the 5Days JR pass and enjoy unlimited ride on some JR trains if you plan to visit Nagoya region and a day trip to Tateyama Alpine Kurobe route. 2. There are not many tourists during our visiting time (24 April 2023) and we love the peaceful feeling of it. Just that, it also comes with not many restaurants are available during the day.
