The hotel is in Haarlem. Very easy to find just in from of the big church. Staffs are nice and willing to help. Room is clean.

Comfortable, clean and welcoming. Breakfast was good if nothing out of the ordinary. We booked a de luxe room but were very disappointed by the awful view of air conditioning units rather than the church and square which we expected. The basin in the bathroom was cracked. Not a major problem but not nice to look at either. Location of the hotel was superb for looking round Haarlem and there were great restaurants within a few yards. The staff were friendly and whilst I would avoid room 111 so as to have a better view we were very happy with our stay and would recommend the hotel. One advantage of being in the back of the hotel was that it was quiet at night. Beds were very comfortable.There is no lounge to speak of so you are either in your room, at breakfast or out!

Good points: the location is very convenient just off the main square; the lay-out is a delight with rooms off a central spiral staircase; the staff were very pleasant and helpful; lots of good cleaning and hygiene. Not so good points: being near the main square means noise at night; our bed had a soft mattress (we prefer hard); we did not like the ill-fitting glass door to the bathroom; the breakfast was just adequate (no muesli, breakfast late at weekends). On balance, we did not think this added up to good value for money.

We received a friendly, helpful greeting from the reception staff. I had already booked in online. We just needed to pay our Tourist Tax and were given the keys to the room. Lovely room, very top floor, yes there was noise at night, but there is a bar next door and two doors up, so expected some noise, didn't bother us though, we were in the city centre near to the square, so lots of activity at night which we expected. There is a bar in the hotel and breakfast is available for an extra charge.

Hotel kan wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken. Alles is overigens prima onderhouden en schoon, maar verouderd. Kamer was erg warm; airco bracht hier weinig verandering in. Ontbijt is prima. Ligging is perfect; parkeren in garage onder hotel; oude centrum om de hoek

The hotel's location, near the Market Square and St. Bavo Church, was perfect for exploring Haarlem on foot. Plenty of nice restaurants and shops are close by and an easy location to fine. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and quiet. Best of all the lovely people at the front desk were very helpful, efficient, and quickly accommodated our special requests. Amrath Grand Hotel Frans Hals is the best place to stay in Haarlem.
