Hotels near Onuma Quasi-National Park in Hakodate

My first Japanese hotel experience did not disappoint! This is a hotel that most tourists from outside of Japan might never visit but it appears very popular with Japanese tourists visiting the Onuma/Hakodate area. I highly recommend it if wanting to be close to Onuma lake /park with beautiful views of Koma-ga-take volcano/mountain from the dining facility and also from many of the rooms. We were there in the lush summer but I imagine in the winter it is just as beautiful. Given that it is largely Japanese guests, English was challenging at times and the breakfast buffet is mainly Japanese oriented - with some cereal/toast/pastries/fruit if Japanese cuisine isn’t your preference for breakfast - but delicious. Even without English, service was great throughout the hotel. The staff looked after our conference and attendees very well. Rooms are clean, quiet and peaceful. Conference attendees raved about the indoor/outdoor onsen and also enjoyed walking the grounds. If you want nature, peace, quiet, good service you will enjoy this hotel very much. Having a car will help but there is also hourly shuttle service to the train station.

I chose it because it is called ”hot spring where you can travel in Hokkaido by Shinkansen”. It was an online reservation, but I received a confirmation call such as the room on the ２ floor without an elevator and the room with only a shower. At that time, I was able to make a reservation for a private bath. A few days before my stay, I received an email from the manager and a call to decide dinner time. The hotel can be seen from Onuma Station. Walk ５ minutes. When you enter the front desk, you will find a nice atmosphere like an overseas resort. You can drink coffee and tea, and there is a bar lounge (with time limit) to relax. Even adults can enjoy the railway diorama and railway goods in the lounge. There were various customers such as couples, couples, and families. The room was the smallest room, but the interior was devised and functional and I didn't feel much narrowness. I was worried that the room with only a shower and the large communal bath were open-air baths, but it was not colder than I expected because of the good weather. I used the large communal bath ２ times, but it was reserved. Despite the busy season of the private bath, the reservation was not crowded, and I used it at ２. (１ Some places are reserved in advance. There are already vacancies on the day of １.) Bath towels and towels are convenient in the bathhouse other than the guest rooms. And what should be noted is the meal? A menu that you can enjoy with your eyes according to the concept of ”delicious Epuy”. Meat, fish, vegetables, mushrooms, homemade bread dinner, breakfast full of vegetables and dairy products. I was almost hungry in the center of the local area. There were many young staff, but it was a customer service that conveys the feeling of hospitality. On the way back, despite the station Chika, he sent me by car because my feet were bad. When you try to find a place to stay for the purpose of hot springs, the elements of Japanese will inevitably become stronger, which is also attractive. However, it was a very satisfying trip that sometimes seemed to be good for hot springs like Epi and good inn like children in resort hotels. This time it was a relaxing trip to enjoy the snowy scenery, but I would like to revisit Epi to look forward to cycling and walking in different seasons. It was a trip that noticed the goodness of southern Hokkaido.

There are hot springs ♨️,  breakfast,  dinner, dinner is very rich, it is Genghis Khan barbecue, the place is very quiet, the waiter is very good, I like the hotel very much, there is a chance  will come again next time.

Nice and clean hotel. Location is right next to Hakodate JR station which is convenient. Buffet breakfast was good with wide variety of food to choose from. Room looks quite new but was quite compact for my family of 4. The negative thing was that my room didn't come with any complimentary water and there was also no housekeeping provided during my stay (They only provided a bag with fresh change of towels, coffee/tea bags to each room).

If you take the tram from Hakodate Station to Goryokaku Koenmae Station, it is a hotel almost in front of you. The bus stop of the ”Tobikko” bus to the airport is also nearby. The size of the room and the type of amenities were sufficient. Personally, it was convenient to have pajamas. It was in the room even with the charger and cable of the PC and the smartphone, so it will be helpful when you forget it. Only one thing, when I opened the shower curtain, it smelled bad, so the item ”cleanness” is reduced by １.

This hotel is a relatively newer hotel . There is a huge free open carpark behind the hotel. Check in was fast . Welcome drinks were served. The twin rooms are very comfortable with good temperature control and firm beds. Wifi was fast. There was a bathtub and a area to sit down and shower just like in the onsen area. Two bottles of water were provided. Dinner was good with snow crabs , sashimi like tuna , octopus , ikura etc . There was also a ramen section where you cook your own ramen . For desert , there was an assortment of cakes and ice cream . Onsens were new and relatively empty. The bathing area was adequately lit . The only drawback was that only one type of shampoo and conditioner was available . There was a long indoor onsen . Outdoor onsens had a long sort of infinity pool , another pool and two barrel tubs . The onsens were clean and new and quiet. There was also a resting area that looked out over the city at night . What would make the experience better would be perhaps popsicles could be offered for all to enjoy after the onsen. Breakfast was good . Overall a very comfortable and reasonably priced stay near an Aeon mall and fantastic soba restaurant

The location is good. The service is good. The staff is very helpful. However, I did not expect the room is so small. I decided to upgrade it with additional cost. This hotel is famous for its breakfast. But did not find any prestige as compared with other.

Even if everyone at the front desk wore a mask, they were so welcome that they felt that their smile was wonderful. We have you upgrade your room. The room was large enough to have a partition door, and there was a sense of security that privacy was protected, and the corner 々 was beautiful and the view from the window was good and comfortable. There was also a large communal bath and I was released from fatigue. If you move by car, it was not bitter at all because it was about ２４ time-open convenience store and lucky clown store that boasts the largest area of Hakodate within ５ minutes by car, and about ３０ minutes to the morning market in front of Hakodate Station. The overall experience is very good. It’s my first return visit after the name change. I can feel the style of the old hotel with the new decoration. The natural hot springs are really great. There are four baths and an outdoor bath. I also booked a plan that includes breakfast. It’s super. Recommended. It is also very close to the airport bus drop-off point, a 2-minute walk. I will stay here again next time I come to Hakodate.

The inn and facilities are very good, the old good aspect and the recent activities are fused, there is nostalgia, newness, and adults and children can enjoy it. However, I thought I wanted a one day pass because the ticket fee was more expensive than I thought or the ticket was halfway. I stayed for 2 nights again, but the meal was almost the same and I was a little tired. It was a pity that there was only water in the dining room when I had dinner. I wanted about wheat tea. Overall, it is very good to enjoy and improve, so I am glad to improve.
