"Excellent breakfast buffet. Made my own seafood bowl. As good as the morning market, which is a bit of a tourist trap and expensive. Loved our hotel room. It was clean, very modern and spacious. We were in the newer East wing & stayed in the Western room - highly recommended. Most of the front desk staff were cordial and friendly. Service can be a bit improved though to be more welcoming. Excellent location. I think it’s the best hotel in Hakodate."

"The hotel is located within walking distance to the Hakodate morning market and it also has ample parking for those on road trips. Parking is chargeable - i think it was 1000 yen per night and you can enter/ exit multiple times though you need to get your parking ticket validated each time you exit. Check in was efficient - we'd booked 1 night and 1 room for 4 pax - while there are 4 beds, it leaves almost no space for us to open luggages or to move around the room. It was cramped which was typical for Japanese hotels but I wouldn't do this if we stayed ＞ 1 night. There was a good local Japanese crowd + tour groups so I avoided the onsen as I knew it will be super crowded."

"I’m a frequent Tokyu hotel guest and this has to be the worst tokyu stay ever. Like all the reviews here, the service is negligible, and the staff at the front desk seems to hate their jobs. Also NONE of the front desk staff seem to speak fluent English which can be annoying given the number of foreign tourists they must receive. Also do not bother asking for a late checkout, they carve a fee or a 10,000yen even for a later check out of 1hour. The only saving grace is that I came at off season hence I paid only 12,500 yen ($100sgd) per room per night, and would NOT be willing to pay anything more than 13,000 yen per night…. Also it’s right at the area of the morning market so it was nice having access to fresh seafood at your door step. Also my tip is not to get the breakfast as it’s just a ticket that allows you to redeem it from any of their chosen 18 restaurants at the morning market. You can just go on your own and choose whichever restaurant and dish you like????? Idk man service is very important for a stay and I would not want anyone to leave Hakodate with a bad taste just because the service staff at Tokyu Hakodate was unpleasant..:"

"The hotels in the Yunokawa Onsen area are generally quite average, and Umi to Akari, which is a Four Points by Marriott, is no exception. However, its price is double what you'd expect. Perhaps I booked too last minute. To be honest, for this price, I'd choose other, higher-end options, and even taking a taxi there to enjoy the hot springs would be more cost-effective. This hotel does offer day-use hot spring access. Here's my experience from a few perspectives: 1. **Hygiene:** You generally don't need to worry about hygiene in Japanese hotels, and this place is no different. 2. **Dining:** I opted for the one-night, two-meal plan, and after checking in, I realized it was the worst decision. The food quality was truly average. Although there was a lot of seafood and unlimited crab legs, it was just… mediocre. I ate one meal and never went back. I'd rather walk across the street to "Ichimonji" for Hokkaido ramen 🍜. Coincidentally, it was a Japanese holiday, and the breakfast queue was unbelievably long 🤪. 3. **Clientele:** This hotel primarily caters to tour groups. Buses kept pulling up, dropping off loads of tourists, if you catch my drift. 4. **Accommodation:** The bed and pillows were really uncomfortable. I'll spare you the details... 5. **Hot Springs:** Clean, and the quality of the hot spring water was good. It was slightly salty, and my skin felt silky smooth after bathing. There weren't many Chinese guests, and everyone was very particular about hot spring etiquette, maintaining personal space. This was a definite plus (especially with so many tour groups staying there)."
