Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in Yukawa Onsen Street in Hakodate
Because it is a historical building, the floors are not high.
Unless you come to the front
Otherwise it is not easy to see immediately from the outside
But when we followed the map to the door with our luggage (Figure 1)
I was immediately attracted by its entrance which was different from other hot spring hotels.
The receptionist saw us.
The door opened and welcomed us immediately.
Since the entire hall is tatami
So you need to take off your shoes after entering the door
Items such as shoes and umbrellas will be stored at the door
Luggage will be taken care of by a dedicated person and delivered to the room
We were led to the reception hall by the lady in charge (Figure 2)
After we sat down, we were served matcha and matcha snacks (Picture 3)
The whole process of checking in was very comfortable
The lady led us to the room
After kindly introducing the layout of the room and the precautions for bathing, he left.
It really interprets the feeling of being at home 😌
Very spacious room
On the right side of the entrance is the tea room, washroom and bathroom
The sliding door is the bedroom (Figure 5)
There is a small compartment directly opposite the bed (Figure 6)
People can sit at the table and watch the ebb and flow of the sea in front of them (Figure 7-8)
The only sound left in my ears is the pleasant sound of waves hitting the beach
Give us peace of mind 🌊
Like most hot spring hotels
There are also private and public hot springs here.
The private hot spring is located on the first floor and is semi-open-air
You can enjoy the snow scenery in the courtyard while taking a bath❄️ (Picture 9)
In addition, the public hot springs are also a must-try
The public hot spring is located on the 2nd floor
There are indoor and outdoor soup
Needless to say, the outdoor hot spring is the highlight ✨
Overall
From environment to facilities to services
Nothing to complain about
We later learned
This hot spring hotel was built during the Taisho period (around the 1920s)
It is a century-old building that has experienced a century of light and shadow.
The house itself is like a tourist attraction
Magnificent and solemn
During the Showa era, the Emperor also stayed here
Full of humanistic atmosphere
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is a little far from Hakodate Station. We have to walk a little after taking the bus, so we took a taxi, which cost 2,300 yen. The Japanese-style hot spring hotel, the room is not by the sea, the tatami area is good, much larger than the Western-style hotel room 😆 There are relatively few restaurants in Yukawa Onsen and they are relatively far away. It is recommended to solve breakfast and dinner in the hotel. We ordered breakfast, which is Japanese style with many varieties. We didn't order dinner, and wanted to go out for dinner. Unexpectedly, we walked for a long time before finding an Okonomiyaki restaurant that could accommodate us.
GGuest UserWhile it's located a little way from the city center, this hotel is conveniently situated just 15 minutes from Hakodate Airport and is very close to the Yunokawa Onsen tram stop, making access to the downtown area quite easy.
The breakfast buffet was very tasty and satisfying, though not exceptionally fancy. Additionally, I attended a banquet, and the cuisine served there was of an even higher quality.
The staff were consistently polite and attentive, which made for a truly comfortable and pleasant stay.
The real highlight, however, is the onsen (hot spring). Being able to take a relaxing soak until 1:00 AM and again from 5:00 AM in the morning is a fantastic feature that allows you to fully enjoy the hot spring experience.
Although it is on the pricier side, this hotel offers an experience that is well worth the cost. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special and memorable trip.
MMiyahamIt was absolutely wonderful!
The location was great and parking was easy to find.
The front desk was very friendly and the welcome drinks were amazing! I ended up having the soft-serve ice cream several times.
The rooms were clean. Freshly ground coffee is a great thing for coffee lovers.
Dinner was a 10-piece nigiri sushi course, which was delicious.
I was also very satisfied with the variety of options available for breakfast.
The daikon dengaku was great.
More than anything, I love the name ”Wara” (laughing).
I'd love to stay here again if I visit Hakodate.
Wwzx0227This hotel located just right outside the Hakodate JR Station. 2mins walk from JR station and 5 mins walk from morning market.
Room is clean, big and spacious with all the basic necessities. There is a tub in the room and shower, there is also a onsen bath separate for men and women. Also included is a simple breakfast. Hotel did provide the free shuttle bus to airport, but need to confirm the timing with frontdesk. The service not available every day.
GGuest UserI hv requested a king size bed when I booked 6weeks in advanced my stay but they didnt give me a king size bed. The room is tiny with a corridor and separated shower area and toilet. I feel the room design is not efficient and uses up many space which doesnt allow guests to open the luggage. Onsen was good. Their water makes the skin soft and smooth. Because of its hotel capacity there are many guests and onsen area is quite crowded. Breakfast was excellent but they close shape at 9am. You are requested to hv breakfast at either 7am or 8am. That is too early for me. In general nice stay but could hv been better.
GGuest UserThis is the second time for the consecutive years of our stay. This hotel is the only reason for us to come back to Hokkaido again from last year’s trip. The ocean view in the room accompanied with the sound of tides / wind is peaceful and lovely; and the in-room but semi-outdoor/facing the sea onsen makes everything perfect. Also the lobby sitting area is another fascinating place for stay for a while! The downstairs souvenir shop, nearby walking distance Lawson/ 7–11 makes the location more convenient.
But maybe the expectation was too high after waiting for a year, I was disappointed for this stay several reasons:
1) too strong third hand cigarettes smell in the room, although we opened the window for 24 hours, the smell still lingered
2) check out time is WAY TOO EARLY(10 am) for a leisure purpose of stay
3) the room is clean but not the window, it hinder the view of seeing through the ocean ; and can tell the hotel is old from every corners.
I’ll reconsider to stay again if the price is worth the downside we need to compromise.
GGuest UserThe facilities are a bit old, but clean. The buffet is good, with a wide variety of dishes and a nice environment. However, there are no hot drinks. Japanese people like iced drinks, so I'm not used to it. The first-floor lobby and hot springs would be nice to see the sea on a clear day, but it was raining when we went, so we didn't get to soak in the hot spring in the room.
エエゾシカ伝道師The staff at the inn were warm and moderate, and I was very comfortable.
While there were many non-smoking rooms, the companion who was a smoker was very happy.
In addition, the correspondence of the odor remaining in the room is also firm, and I think it can be comfortable.
It's a hot spring, but you can get the power of the source.
It is a hot spring of great satisfaction!
I want to enter again ♪
Iizm0930I stayed here when I went to Hakodate for a live show.
It was about a 10-minute walk from Hakodate Arena, it has a hot spring, a hotel with an ocean view, and there is a 24-hour Hasegawa store within walking distance, and it was a great choice.
The sunlight pours in through the large windows, so even though it is late January in the middle of winter, you don't have to turn on the heater.
You can relax with the sound of the ocean in the background.
The open-air bath is like an infinity pool, and the ocean is right in front of you, so you can stay in it forever.
The bus to Hakodate Station leaves almost right in front, there is a convenience store nearby, and the 24-hour Hasegawa store is just a short walk away, so it is very convenient.
There is no need to rush to get on public transportation after the arena live show, you can drink at a nearby izakaya until the sun sets and then go home, and the front desk is open 24 hours a day, so it was reassuring.
Whenever I go to Hakodate, I always stay around Hakodate Station, but this was such a great encounter that I think I will stay at this hotel in the future!
