Hakuba Highland Hotel Reviews

The hotel is located on a hillside behind Hakuba Station. It takes about 15 minutes to walk one kilometer through the fields, which is very convenient (it seems that you can also contact the front desk to have someone pick you up). The hotel's dinner is a buffet, with all-you-can-eat sashimi and sushi, and you can enjoy the snow-capped mountain scenery from the restaurant window. Hotel guests can soak in the open-air hot spring for free. The open-air hot spring faces the snow-capped mountains. The experience is very good. There is ice water in the refrigerator in the room, which is not very considerate. The hotel has a sense of history and has many works of art. It is definitely a treasure hotel in Hakuba Village. There are several scheduled shuttle buses every day at the hotel entrance to the surrounding scenic spots, and it is also very close to Ode Park. I will stay here again next time I come to Baima Village!

The hotel has a wooden charm about it. It had a very nice onsen which is well managed and with outdoor snow experience. The view from the hotel was amazing, you could see the entire mountain range and valley.It was total bliss. The hotel staff was kind and cooperative.Its located 15 min walk from the station and I would recommend you take that walk as it's very scenic ( if you have less luggage). The breakfast was good and the coffee was very good. I would like to visit this town again someday.The price was a very good value for room and facilities.

The sound of doors opening and closing is loud and wakes me up in the middle of the night or early in the morning. Although it was a non-smoking room, the smell of the air freshener when I checked in was so strong that I felt sick, probably because the previous guest had smoked. Dinner time is decided on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you check in at 5:30, dinner will be at 7:30 and you'll have to wait an hour to take a bath, so you could have arrived at 6:30. The buffet has a lot of variety, but it's all normal and nothing particularly delicious. Is it worth the price? If dinner is late, breakfast is also late, starting at 7:50. It's best to check in early and decide on dinner and breakfast times before heading out.

This hotel stands on a hill behind Hakuba Station. The building itself seems to be quite old, but there are two hot springs. One is a day-use bath that has been there for a while (it gets crowded depending on the season and time of day), but the other seems to have been newly built, is clean, and is only for guests staying at the hotel, so it is comfortable and not crowded, and the view is great. The quality of the spring is okay. It didn't feel as slippery as the hot springs in Happo. Also, because of the location, you can see a great view of the Hakuba mountain range from both the hot springs and the lobby. This is one of the hotel's selling points, so I recommend a room on the mountain side if possible. Another thing is that the food was good. There was a wide variety, and each one was delicious. The rooms are just like a normal hotel. There was only one small elevator, so it was a bit difficult to wait depending on the time of day.

Second stay. Definitely recommended if you want to see the mountain scenery from your room in Hakuba. Even if it's cloudy, the scenery you see will change depending on the wind direction, so you can expect to see a spectacular view for a moment. The room has the feel of a resort from the good old days, but it has the atmosphere of being in a hotel in the Swiss Alps. This time, it was cloudy and I couldn't see the spectacular view from the bath, but I was able to enjoy the view from my room and dining room. I usually sleep with the curtains open. When there is moonlight, you can see the mountains rising from your bed. There is now an observation deck (rooftop of a separate building) that was not there before, and you can now enjoy the scenery when it is fully open. The spiral staircase from the first floor is scary at night, but I thought it would be a good idea to go up it at least once while you can. The shop also has time service, which makes you feel like you're getting a little bit of a benefit, but I felt that if you get a discount for guests, you can shop anytime and feel good. During time service hours, the small shops were crowded, so it was difficult to wander around and make a selection. The only slight difficulty was lining up at the entrance when the meal started. This time, I tried staying at another hotel in Hakuba before staying there, but next time I would like to relax by staying for 3 consecutive nights or more, taking into account that I might not be able to see the mountains due to the bad weather. .

This is my second stay here, the first being 3 years ago. The facilities as a whole are showing their age, but there are no complaints about the staff's service and thoroughness of cleaning. There are so many different and varied hikes to choose from, both in the evening and in the morning, that you won't be able to do them all in one session. There are two baths that we are proud of, and the ones reserved for guests are new and comfortable. It's free to take a bath after checking out, so I stopped by on my way back from Happoike. I would like to use them again.
