I loved this place!!! There’s a massage chair for u to wind down, a dining area, a working kitchen, washing machine, and a lovely bathtub. Not to forget the outdoor onsen. Super cool being in the onsen in the snow. The owner was so helpful from the start to the end of the trip. The only downside is the price 😁

Quite possibly the nicest hotel experience I've had. The staff was incredibly kind and hospitable (helping with suitcases, calling taxis, the private onsen luxurious, and the room well-appointed with thoughtful amenities like a massage chair and bluetooth speakers. The breakfast is a must. I only stayed one night but already felt incredibly refreshed. 10/10 would return.

Beautifully renovated rooms, with impeccable service. I’ve never experienced such high end, quality service. So much attention to detail and the private onsen was amazing. Not to mention the breakfast was spectacular as well! I would definitely go back here and probably only stay here when I go back to Hakuba.

Easily the best place I have stayed in in my life. If I could give this more than 5 stars I definitely would. Everything about this place was excellent - breakfast was perfect, Joe and his wife were so accommodating and helpful (they dropped us off at the ski resort on the first night!) Everything was amazing

We had a wonderful experience at Kunugi and recommend it wholeheartedly. The rooms and property were super cute and extremely well-equipped, with everything we could imagine needing. The onsen baths, and especially the outdoor rotenburo were special because they were private and my partner and I could enjoy together. The breakfast was delicious and healthy, with a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Finally, the staff were excellent, professional and friendly, the kind of service I'd get at a five-star hotel.

We couldn’t recommend this place more! If there was a 12 on the scale we would have rated it 12 on everything.
The hosts were the most helpful we have ever experienced - helped us with everything from booking taxis, recommending where to ski for the day as well as printing manuals for how to prepare various noodles we had bought in the convenience store :) The room was beautiful, clean and felt very cozy and authentic. The breakfast was a culinary experience every day not to mention the onsen that became a highlight each afternoon. We will for sure come back here when we come to Hakuba next time!

My family and I had a wonderful 3 night stay. The owners and staff are warm and welcoming. The space is beautiful and calming. And, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning. The private onsen is a must do. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the Hakuba area!

Charming family hotel ideally located in the Echoland district of Hakuba. It is located slightly away from the main street just 2 minutes walk from the free shuttle station. The decoration is very neat. The chef's French-Japanese cuisine is DELICIOUS. The establishment has three onsen which can be privatized, including one for groups. The manager, Jo san, and his wife take great care of their customers. Special mention for the little touches and the little French words! In a word: subarashikatta (it was great).

Although there are many old inns around Hakuba, this hotel is relatively new and stylish with an Asian style. The scale is small. Maybe about 6 rooms? There are three baths (one is open-air and snow-viewing), and reservations are required for the open-air baths. It's not a hot spring, but it's private and there's no time limit, so you can take your time. The toilet and sink are separate in each room, but they are in separate rooms (you have to go out into the hallway), which is a strange design. Well, it's not that inconvenient, but I think it would be nice to have it in the room. The food is creative French. Well, it's generally delicious, but the quantity may feel a little unsatisfactory. Also, dinner is at 6:30 and breakfast is at 8:00, which feels a little late. It may not be suitable for those who want to go out early in the morning.
