Location is very good. It faces a street lined with restaurants, so you won't have to worry about eating. Walking distance to Hoa En Kim Lake. It is also convenient for sightseeing. Missed our flight so had to make a last minute booking at a hotel. Hanoi Gatsby provided good last minute service and the man at the front desk was very helpful too. We booked a family suite for 4 as the notes said 2 single beds and 1 queen, however 1 of the single beds turned out to be a makeshift/safari-typed bed instead of an actual bed. The bathroom was also a bit mouldy and when we entered the room, the sink was clogged. Front desk managed to resolve it promptly. Location-wise, very good though; easy to find and near plenty of shopping and food.

¡NUNCA RESERVÉIS EN ESTE HOTEL! Hicimos reserva para una noche y al llegar al hotel después de un viaje agotador, te dicen que el precio que has reservado por internet ya ha expirado y que ahora es otro (mucho mayor). El señor de recepción al decirle que no nos quedábamos allí, me quita el móvil y cancela la reserva escribiendo el motivo que más le beneficia. He leído muchos comentarios de huéspedes con la misma experiencia, se nota que es una práctica común en el Hotel. Engaño absoluto. Además, solo entrando en recepción te das cuenta que no tiene nada que ver con las fotos que muestran. Si hay alguna duda, tengo fotos de la reserva.

This hotel is ok if you’re not terribly fussy. Close to the old town. The people are friendly but the advertised free breakfast is non-existent. It’s a bit shabby, the shower is a bit hit and miss. However the rooms are a good size and they are cool. There’s not too much noise from the very busy street.

They should try to be smart, very smart. Especially the bathroom. They should replenish toiletries as well as scrub the toilet floor and walls so that clients plan to come back or refer other people. They should also sweep the room floors everyday when there is a client. They should be professional especially on the reception area. They should buy proper detergents not user old containers over and over again to refill.
They are nice people but dirty.
