The hotel is old but maintained reasonably. Unfortunately I barely could sleep because of loud street noises all day and night long, even on the 7th floor.. the staff was kind and efficient.

After researching and reading positive reviews I decided to stay here as it was also walking distance to the train station. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was on the 10th floor with views over the city. It was spacious enough, very clean and the bed was very comfortable for sleeping. Lighting was good. My only drawback was it was explained to me that the aircon was automatic. I had to wait until I was ready for sleep (so as not to lose power connection) and then remove the security card to turn off the aircon as by then the room was like a fridge. Maybe I just misunderstood. Hot water shower no problem. Tip: always pack your toothbrush.

Firstly I would like to say that out of all 3 hotels I stayed in Thailand, this hotel has the most fluffiest pillow and comfortable bed! Unfortunately it was just a one night stay for us. Amenities and breakfast were basic but great location close to the morning Kimyong market and night market at Lee Gardens. No toothbrush provided here though.

Hubby and I just wanted a short vacation is southern Thailand without too much hassle and traveling. We chose to stay in city center and required a comfortable reasonable priced hotel which was easy access to the two night hawkers, temples and the four famous markets which sold local products and wares. We found VL Hatyai after reading the numerous reviews. Our room was on the 11th floor with a great view of the city and it was spacious and clean. The twin beds and pillows were very comfortable and a kettle for making coffee was provided. A large TV with various English, Chinese and Thai channels were provided and we even had a fridge and hair dryer which were unusual for the price we paid. Due to the comfort we decided to stay 5 nights and ventured to tour outskirts of Hatyai on day trips to the Floating Market and Stainless Steel Temple.
