The hotels in South Africa are generally pretty good, and this small hotel is the same. The rooms are very clean, with a small swimming pool, but the location is a bit out of the way.

We only spent one night here as we were flying home the following evening but we would have been very happy to stay longer. Lovely, spacious, tastefully decorated studio. Quiet location & an easy walk to the centre of Hermanus or the coastal path. The staff were excellent - warm, friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was great - lots of choice - I particularly appreciated the gluten free bread. We would love to return to Hermanus during the whale season & stay at 6 Stemmet Lodge.

We had an amazing night at Stemmet ,beautiful and quiet location ,good and helpful staff .their rooms are very nice and clean spacious parking area .we had good and decent breakfast in the morning were you choose different cereals and juice

We stayed in the Whale room for 5 nights. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was amazing. The breakfasts were beautifully presented with a great selection …. fresh fruit, pancakes, cereal, yoghurt and hot options - eggs, bacon, mushrooms etc. my favourite was the mushroom and cheese omelette 😊. Our room was also equipped with a toaster, microwave and basic cutlery and crockery so we could enjoy a light meal without having to order in or go out. The private outdoor courtyard was a good place to relax. Being a swimmer, the large pool was a huge bonus. The location allowed us to stroll to the shops and waterfront if we felt like it.

In terms of price, it was the cheapest accommodation on our trip along the Garden Route, but definitely not the worst! We were surprised that everything was as described despite the low price. Everything worked and we felt very comfortable. The lodge is located in a very quiet residential area from which you can reach downtown Hermanus within 10 minutes on foot. The breakfast is (like everywhere in South Africa) not particularly extensive. But it is lovingly prepared and presented. You will definitely be full. We can definitely recommend the accommodation.

We loved this place! It was a quiet area which was perfect for us, our accommodation had a nice outdoor patio for meals and stunning views of the bay. We loved the wood work and all of the storage for our bags. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with ideas of what to do in town. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful clean spacious room, walking distance from center of town, restaurants , Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely fresh English breakfast and cereals Free Wifi and parking. Lovely pool area to relax or just chill on a daybed with a book
