"Delightfully comfortable and ideally situated on top of the Cliff with a short 5 minute drive into town this Guest House was perfect for a weeks stay in Hermanus. The breakfast was excellent and the host was welcoming and helpful. There is plenty of secure parking, an honesty bar and lovely pool to relax by. One nice little touch was complementary afternoon tea with delicious home made cakes. The room was amazing and I would hight recommend this delightful property"

"Our stay at Selkirk House was outstanding from start to finish. Celia is an exceptionally friendly and helpful host. She supported us with excellent restaurant recommendations and gave valuable tips for day trips in the area. The generous breakfast deserves special mention, offering a wide selection of fresh fruit and various freshly prepared egg dishes. Everything was beautifully presented and of high quality. The rooms are very spacious and thoughtfully decorated with great attention to detail. In the room, coffee, tea, and water are provided. The bathroom is perfectly equipped — nothing is missing. There are even candles to create a relaxing atmosphere in the bathtub, as well as tissues and many small extras that make a difference. Thank you, Celia, for hosting us so warmly at Selkirk House. We look forward to coming back."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is stunning and very peaceful. The staff especially Rory were all very helpful . We normally like to eat out in restaurants but the food here was so good we ate here twice during our three night stay. Drinks in the lounge before dinner were so relaxing and we were never rushed to sit down for dinner. Some of the rooms overlooked the lagoon but we had a mountain view which was picturesque with comfortable lounge chairs on the patio to take in the view . We have rebooked for next year but increased our stay to five nights ."

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Auberge Burgundy. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and assisted with our luggage. All the staff were friendly, professional, and attentive. We were celebrating a birthday, and they made a special effort to make the occasion even more memorable, which we really appreciated. The room was spacious with beautiful décor, while still feeling cozy and warm. The location is incredibly convenient, close to restaurants and shops, with lovely sea views. The breakfast was divine — definitely one of the best we’ve had."

"The house was easy to find. When ringing the bell a friendly lady opens the gate and introduced herself. She guided us ( three couples) to our rooms which were superb, really spacious and on the last modern stage of art. The views on the sea were stunning, The whole house was top modern and build with high value material by perfect handcrafts men. The security feeling was 100% (if this is possible) as we received remote control for the outside gate, PIN codes for the entrance door of the house and PIN codes for every room. The offered breakfast plus buffet was fantastic. The stuff was very supportive and friendly. There were no problem but only solutions. We had a fantastic stay there."

Lavender Manor Guest Lodge

"We stayed at this guest house for 2 nights as we wanted to do a whale watching trip on our South Africa road trip. We also knew that Hermanus is the best place for land based whale watching. On arrival at the lodge we were welcomed warmly by the owner who helped us with our luggage. We stayed in a ground floor room which was large and comfortable. However, other guests had to pass close by to enter the breakfast room. It was not warm enough to use the tiny pool or loungers but in warmer months this could present a problem as this facility was adjacent to the room we stayed in. The communal lounge area and viewing terraces upstairs are a great feature. We were unable to use the outside areas as the weather was cold and windy so we did not try any whale watching from there. I guess you would only see any whales using the provided binoculars. There is an honesty bar for guests use as well as a mini bar in the room. Breakfast was freshly cooked together with help yourself juice, coffee, cereal, yogurt, fruit, breads. It is an easy walk down to the beach where there is a restaurant. Hermanus town is a short drive away. The main cliff path is here with some lookout points for whale spotting. We have just one negative comment. We found the house very cold. There did not appear to be any form of heating anywhere apart from in our bedroom where there was a heating unit which we eventually discovered how to use. However, this did not heat the bathroom. Apart from this, we had a very pleasant stay."

"We loved our stay at the Whale On Main. The host is very friendly and welcoming, and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us. Just across the street from accessing the famous cliff walk (breathtaking!). The breakfast is superb! We hope to be back!"

Milkwood Lodge

"We stayed at the Milkwood lodge for 3 nights and we were very happy with the room and all the facilities. Our room was big and comfortable with a well-appointed kitchenette and a lovely veranda where we could sit outside. Also a big bathroom with shower and bath. Delicious breakfast also included in price. We were received on arrival by the owner, who was always on hand to help and with a friendly word. Great stay."
