Our room was clean with a kitchenette for self catering. Lovely breakfast included. Free drink on arrival. Free tea & scones in the afternoon. All staff were friendly & helpful.

Beautiful historic building with breathtaking views! Elegantly updated interior - and careful attention paid to bringing the bay ”inside”. Hubs and I spent a restful night in a sea-facing room on the third floor. The ocean-inspired colours and textures used in the room evoke peace and tranquility, while the sounds and smells of the waves lapping right outside appeal to, and indeed heighten, one's senses. Our room was well equipped, comfortable, clean and cosy. The breakfast buffet was delicious, well presented, and had enough variety to suit a spectrum of diets and tastes. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the welcoming glass of wine on arrival - such a nice touch. Thank you Yolande van der Walt and team, we commend your efforts and we'll definitely be back!

This wonderful hotel oozes old-fashioned charm and service, all to forgotten in the fast pace hotel world. Beautifully situated on the cliffs overlooking the ocean this wonderful establishment shows its true pedigree, with its outstanding team members, lead by the attentive general manager Melissa Theron and backed up by her Management team with the charismatic and Jovial duty manager Patrick, who is very much part of the fabric of this establishment, and the warm and caring nature of Tammy the food and beverage supervisor. Everything from the security on the front gate all the way through the establishment, the beautiful smiles reflect the dedication to the hospitality industry, all are a credit to the Marine hotel and are ambassadors to tourism in the beautiful town of Hermanus. As a former hotelier, I would be proud and blessed to have every single one of these team members as part of my team. As a regular user of the facilities even from a cup of coffee through to the fabulous meals they offer, they always welcome you with open hearts and open arms. We loved our stay. Feels almost like home. Just a few minor things like either no or bad dstv signal for our whole stay. Couldn't even watch 10minutes of anything. It was reported but could not be sorted out. Cleaning checks should be done. Place was clean but not done very well. Parking great. Loved that the shops is so close. Almost everything within walking distance. Maybe a welcome pack explaining ins and outs of the place could be placed in the apartment.

What a find! From arrival to departure, we loved every minute. We were staying in the hineymoon suite. Large and comfortable, with AMAZING views. So comfortable. Breakfast great. Fresh fruit, delicious yoghurts and bakes. Wonderful cooked breakfast. Dining room overlooking the pool and oceon. Hosts VERY wrlcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Simpky a wonderful experience.

Had a splendid 2 night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The staff made us feel so welcome. They are exceptionally polite and well informed on the surrounding area. We were provided with a map full of helpful suggestions, and a thorough introduction to the lodge and all it's facilities upon check-in. The lodge is located right next to Hermanus New Harbour and a few steps from the cliff path, which is well worth the walk. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. It opens onto a beautiful, well maintained garden area but a few steps from the pool. Breakfast was fantastic (reccommend the Full English!), and a lovely selection of breads, cereals, fruits, cold meats, yogurts etc at the buffet. Truly, no complaints. Would absolutely stay again.

The Sixteen Guesthouse on Main was a lovely property, with 5 fully equipped suites, including a small living room, large bedroom and fully stocked bathroom with shower and tub. The property included large double doors to increase airflow, an exit to the pool with lounge chairs, and chairs directly outside each room. It was easy walking distance to downtown Hermanus either via Main Street (approximately a 10 min walk) or via the ocean road (approximately a 20 minute walk). Anel was a lovely host and provided great restaurant and tour recommendation. I would highly recommend this laid-back guesthouse to anyone traveling through Hermanus.

I liked Baleia. Friendly staff and check-in, even when we were a bit late. Rooms were big and had everything needed. Location and breakfast were good. The only downside is that they seem to have run out of hot water due to a big group staying there. Considering the price, not having hot water was not great, imo. Hopefully this won’t be an issue for other guests in the future.

Great location, nice little pool area and a good family cottage on the premises. Breakkie is nice, fresh but a bit ”standard”. Area is safe and main attraction can be reached on foot. The owner was (after welcoming us) absent, so cannot judge on any activities they would offer /support
