A long, detailed review- if you make it to the end, I salute you! I have tried to be as thorough as possible. This place is probably best described as a work in progress, which I knew when I booked the holiday so I knew that the experience was likely to include fairly basic accommodation. The Accommodation: Dream Village is on a hill, which means that getting out of the main area (pool, bar etc) is generally quite steeply uphill if you're staying in that part, or going out. This is fine, but worth bearing in mind if mobility is an issue, or if you have small children or elderly travellers with you. Around half of the rooms/ apar**ents have been recently decorated and there are plans in place, I believe, to do the rest in time. It seems to be the luck of the draw which you get. We were in one which had been refurbished, and it looked fairly modern and fresh. We were at the top of the hill, just as you come in through the gate from the road outside. There was a small outside area with a table and two chairs, and somewhere to hang towels, swimming costumes and so on. You will have to pay a little extra per day for air con and the safe, and you'll also need to provide washing-up liquid and hand soap as these are not included. For self-catering, I'd say what's provided is sp**** and it would be difficult to cook a meal for a family of four using the equipment. If you're just planning to eat breakfast and lunch there, though, then you'll be fine and there are lots of shops nearby to stock up on rolls, cheese, milk etc- lots of choice in the local area. In terms of what's provided, we had 4 large dinner plates, 4 side plates, 4 bowls and various glasses and mugs. There was a fish slice/ metal spatula and a bread knife and 4 of each type of cutlery. There was one pot and one small frying pan. There is no sofa; both the single beds were in the living area as you come in the door, and there was a separate bedroom with a double bed and the air con unit. I wasn't keen on having our young kids so close to the door, especially with our apar**ent so close to the main gate, so we swapped and the kids had the double bed. Apart from safety, I would suggest DV rethink this as if you're putting younger kids to bed in the living area earlier on, you can't really use your kitchen or anything...you would essentially have to go to bed too! Depends on your routine and how old your kids are, I think. When we arrived, the air con was put on, but in spite of the heat I had to get up and put a hoodie on as it was directly over my head. More on that later, but we learned to have it on until we were getting ready for bed and then to turn it off for the night. As previous reviews state, there isn't any storage in most apar**ents for clothes or anything, so be prepared to keep everything in your case, really. We also had the usual stuff that comes with two small kids, and ended up keeping most of this on the dining table and chairs as you really are pushed for space. Aga
