Abbey Lodge Hotel

Clean hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, nice breakfast with no added charge, fridge and microwave near reception which I would of made use of if staying longer than 1 night. Better than what I was expecting for the price and very handy location, just 5 minutes walk from the train station

Service is good

Stayed in room 45. There was stains on the sheets. You can see stains on the mattress. We found hairs on the pillows. The bathroom had mold/dirt on the ceiling. The toilet was permanently stained. The shower has a bad smell. The area around the sink wasnt clean. The bedroom had peeling paint on the walls and was visually dirty. Tried to watch TV but the signal was lost when anyone walked in the room. There's no wardrobe just four hooks with one broken coat hanger clinging on. Told the receptionist, they went to check. And thought it was a good standard. If they believe it to be in good condition then I dread to think how the rest of the hotel rooms are. The room we stayed in needed a complete refurb or a very deep clean. We left after 30 mins to a known chain of hotels for the same price we paid for this hotel. Didn't realise they wasn't on the website we booked through. The waiting area had a fridge full of open food inside and there was dirty plates and cutlery on the side.

Second stay and once again happy, comfortable warm room and great options for breakfast. All staff are friendly and helpful and having the option to leave car parked even after check out is a real added bonus. I’d definitely stay again.

I was really pleased with my stay at Abbey Lodge, the staff were all very helpful and I was able to park and check in earlier than expected and able to leave my car until after check out hours which was a massive bonus. The accommodation is basic but was comfortable and had everything I needed, the stay also included breakfast which was well stocked and there was plenty of choice.

Stayed 15-17 March in room 43.The room was clean and tidy,double bed,niceensuite with brilliant shower.The negatives,no wardrobe just 4 coathooks and 2 clothes hangers.No customer info in room nor fire evacuation procedure. Used the restaurant in the basement and that was excellent.Choice of cereals,yogourt,fruit and drinks.The cooked food consisted of sausages,bacon,scrambled egg,mushrooms,baked beans and tinned tomatoes. Everything was self service and was well managed. Property mot suitable for those with mobility issues

Heaters weren’t working Called ******* apparently heaters wasn’t in the amenities yes that was *******s explanation. So if your booking with ******* if the heater isn’t working in hotel and hotel staff don’t help don’t bother calling ******* because at -5 cold weather heating isn’t promised only hot water was in the amenities How ridiculous is this !
