This hotel is the worst welcoming I’ve ever experienced. I never complain. I was appalled by the welcome which was an interrogation. I was then greeted by the police which was a bill I did not sign for. Was threatened with jail on the spot. I thought I was in a movie. DO NOT BOOK OR STAY HERE. AWFUL JUST AWFUL!!

In July 2024, I spent several days in this hotel. In general, I liked everything, except for some moments. I'll start with the good: excellent location, opposite a supermarket, and nearby there are many shops and benches, a gorgeous view from the window of the ocean, decent breakfasts, a clean pool, the staff's willingness to help at any time, delicious dishes to order from the menu, well-groomed territory. What I didn’t like: the rooms are already tired, they need updating, I lived in room 513. The pool is open until 19.00, which is not at all convenient, because after dinner you also want activity... but there is none)

Quiet, calm, there is something to eat for breakfast. They clean well. Humidity. Loud air conditioner. Nice staff

Facilities are a bit old

This hotel is in a nice beachfront location. I would say it is an average hotel which could be better with a facelift. Our room was clean and bed very comfortable. The AC in the room was very noisy as was the road noise which started early in the morning. The food was good in my opinion and the biggest compliment to this hotel is the staff. All of which were friendly and are an asset. My main problem with this hotel is the managers idea to allow gap year students in to use the facilities. Pool and sunbeds and towels. Generally taking over all areas and not spending any money buying food or drink. The hotel is not looking after the paying guests but letting them take all of the sunbeds and towels provided. Well out of order. My second time in Lanka. I will return but not to this hotel.

We enjoyed our 4 night all inclusive stay post our tour around Sri Lanka. Check in was swift and we were given a room with lovely views on top floor. The room had a large balcony with views of beach and pool. Room was quite spacious with flat screen TV with many satellite channels. There was a fridge, kettle, safe deposit box and plenty of storage. Bathroom had a walk in shower. It was small but adequate. Food in dining room was generally good but limited vegetarian choices were on offer on some days. However the chef was happy to prepare other vegetarian dishes which I did order on a couple of days. There was only 1 bar by the restaurant and they had a range of local beers, wines, spirits and cocktails on offer for all inclusive guests. I would have preferred another bar near the reception area. Also there was limted seating near reception area. Would have liked more indoor seating areas which would be useful on rainy days. However the beach was nice and turtle beach was only 5 minutes walk away where we got to see turtles on a couple of days. Also one could swim at turtle beach. Swimming was not allowed on beach opposite hotel when we were there due to rough seas. Pool was small but adequate. It was constantly kept clean by pool attendant who was friendly. The team at reception was very friendly too and looked after all our needs. Outside the hotel, there were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. There is also a supermarket directly opposite the hotel. Evening entertainment was generally low key but pleasant. However on one evening they had a DJ who played bollywood/Sri Lankan music and everyone danced away despite the heavy rain outside. We would be happy to visit this hotel perhaps in the drier season. However I would like the hotel to add another bar area and more indoor seating areas for their guests.

It was one of the excellent experiences we had..The staff was very friendly and innocent..The food was delicious and rooms were comfortable enough for our family. Facilities were fine too . .We specially want to thank Viraj and Malsha who were at front office because they were very helpful...

Wonderful ressort, great staff, always friendly and supportive. We had an amazing guest host supun Abhishek, he was so helpful, fun just an amazing person. He arranged pool games for us. The food was excellent, pools, beach, bars the ressort has everything a family wishes for and in excellent quality. Thanks a lot to the whole team ♥️

The hotel is stunning with so many activities specially pool. Supun Abhishek Thank you for your fun activities in the pool and we really enjoyed. As well as he looked after our safety in the pool. Very nice beach hotel. Thank you one more time.

Overall, Citrus Hikkaduwa combines great location with superb service, making it a top choice for a relaxing getaway.

Citrus Hikkaduwa staff are very courteous and helpful. From the time we arrived to the time we checked out, they took care of us nicely. We were a family of 15 and it was great to see the way they looked into each one of our requirements. Hats off to the staff at Citrus - Hikka, especially to Damith from front office.

It was nice place with good rooms.prime location on hikkaduwa beach area.we stay over night food was taste rooms also very good with sea views.frindly service jayaru help us lot Pool little bit busy but we manage to spend good time. we had good weekend

Not worth the money spent. We checked in for lunch, and there was already a big crowd. By that time, only steamed rice and Mexican rice were available as main dishes. The staff just wiped a table and gave it to us to sit at, without providing proper cutlery. Dinner was the same. It seemed they had accepted too many bookings. There wasn’t enough space for in-house guests. We had to wait outside until some people finished their dinner and left. Just like lunch, there was no proper cutlery, and the tables were not cleaned properly. The same dessert items were available for both lunch and dinner. The meal plan was poor. Even at breakfast, they served the same fruits: watermelon, papaya, and browned bananas. Overall, not happy.
