Hotels Near Former place of Kokutaiji Temple and Atago Pond in Hiroshima

Situated only a couple of minutes walk from Hondori shopping street and about 10 minutes walk, depending on if you’re a snail pace walker or someone who walks as fast as an angry mother who’s about to complain to the school board about something, from the Peace Memorial Park lies Santiago Guest House. A hostel that is a bit of a pain to find with it only being sign posted by those hanging signs attached to high rise buildings that are literally everywhere in Japan. With said buildings hosting separate businesses on each floor, it may stress you out finding it but upon entry the stress will go bye bye from its general aesthetically pleasing outlook. A modern and polished looked hostel who’s reception lies right next the common room and kitchen area, giving everyone in there a look at the fresh meat coming in. The common area and reception give a friendly vibe out from the on set with bean bags, couches, two TVs (one with a PlayStation 3) and shelves holding games and cuddly toys for you to spoon like they’re your partner whilst watching a rom com on Netflix. Generally the 6th floor where there is one dorm room and the kitchen and common area is quality. The kitchen is a little small in size but it does the job plus you’re in Japan where bento boxes are a way of life. Plus you can always just jaunt to the local supermarket- Yours- between 8:15 – 8:40pm where the bento boxes, salad and sushi goes half price, which the foreign helpers for free accommodation do pretty much every night. Requested early taxi booking and advised we would be checking out very early..5am and need taxi to get us to the train station but advised service not offered, also to collect iron and board from reception if required as not able to deliver to room . Upon checkout no one at reception but the self checkout worked fine. Room was average at best as was service but location is great for the Peace Park etc.

The location is in the most central area of ​​Hiroshima, with convenient shopping malls and shopping streets around. The toilet and bathroom are separated into dry and wet areas, which is rare in Japan at this price.

Fantastic hotel, opened just 9 months ago, still smells new. Located 10 minute bus trip from Hiroshima station and 15 minute walk from the peace museum/park. Stayed in beautiful one bedroom suite on 21st floor (second highest). Great view of the city through panoramic windows. Staff very friendly, engaging in small talk, specially when they see you are wait for example at the reception. Great breakfast choice, egg station. You can order to table some extra drinks like mango juice and waffles. Executive lounge located on 22nd floor, also great views. Lounge looking nice, with tables quite cramped. As far as food is concerned, I think one of the best Hilton lounges I recall. Choice of number of small sandwiches, cheese, cold meats, salads, beef stew, sweets etc. Swimming pool, dry sauna and large jacuzzi available.

From the former local people, I was able to stay at the ”health pension hall”? The image of the hall is strong, but it feels like a cheap price zone in the pack tour now. It is close to Peace Park, but the location is halfway and the city trams are not available. However, because it is a main street to the residential area sandwiched between the city trams, the bus is very frequent and it is not early at night, but you can ride almost without a timetable. In front of the hotel, the route 24 of the red bus (Hiroshima bus) and the Yoshishima line (Hiroshima station ～ hachichobori ～ Kamiya Cho ~ Peace Park) pass through the main area at the stop called 'kakomachi' (next to peace park), so it is worth using as well as the city tram It should be quite old, but it doesn't look old and the building is relatively clean I think the room is renovated and spacious and comfortable. I think it is better than the hotel in the center, but because it is a business hotel, the amenities are small, and the soundproofing measures such as the wall are poor. The elementary school student on the day of the school excursion occupied the floor below, but the sound of running around seemed to be quite echoing, and there are many student groups depending on the day as the hotel name.

Very easy and convenient to book on Trip.com. Hotel location is very convenient as it is less than 19 minutes walk from the Hiroshima Station. Room was clean and cosy. Reception staff was friendly and helpful.

If you stay at a business hotel with three families, there are many places to add extra beds to the twin room, but this hotel has an adjacent twin room and a double room in the room connectivity There was a connecting room connected by the gingdoor, so it was very comfortable to stay with family 3 people. The bathroom used a large twin room and the toilet used both. Breakfast buffet was not luxurious, but it was a good content for the price. The hotel parking lot is on the 4th floor ～ 8th floor of EKI City Hiroshima opposite the hotel. Going to 1F by B elevator from the parking lot and going out in front of the hotel. Parking fee is 1,200 yen per night and will be paid at the hotel front desk at check-in. It is not a luxurious hotel, but it is located in a good location to access the station, there is also a parking lot, and the accommodation fee and breakfast fee were cheap, and it was able to stay in a clean and relaxing room. I thought it was a very good hotel considering the cost performance.

Nest hotel is just five minutes walk from Hiroshima rail station . It is a new and young style hotel. Is large compared with the other I stay stars hotel I stayed. At third floor. Fruit and drinks by walked back to station again . beddings is new and clean the bed is very comfortable. we didn’t hear any train noise from room. They provide free bread and coffee in the lobby.  The room charges is quite affordable definitely we will come back to nest hotel in next visit to Hiroshima.

The Prince Hotel has an unparalleled view of the Seto Inland Sea. The bed is very comfortable and you can relax well during your trip. The family room is large and well designed. Breakfast is on the 23rd floor with a great view and worth enjoying slowly. The free shuttle bus is on time and is basically full. There is a lighthouse next to the hotel, so you can climb a little mountain by the way.

Good points: 1. Location is amazing since it’s right on the island and everything is within walking distance. 2. We had breakfast and supper included in the stay. Food was varied and plentiful for most palates. Plenty of fruit and veg too. 3. Staff for 98% of the time was great. Language barriers are expected. Google translate is a perfect alternative to the translation issue. The front desk staff were awesome and was extremely helpful. 4. Room is spacious for a traditional Japanese hotel. We had our own onsen which was delightful. The beds were mostly comfortable and we had two full mattresses pushed together creating a massive king! 5. Once you enter the hotel you must take off your shoes and the hotel provides house slippers which generally fit most people. The lobby has shoe cubbies for your shoes. They do not lock, but Japan has very little petty theft so you don’t need to fret over potential thievery. Negative points: 1. This is of no fault of the hotel, rather it’s a Google maps problem. Be aware Google maps will basically have you climb the mountain and drag your suitcase through a dirt path. Instead put in the Miyajima post office and with the water to your right, turn up to the small road with the post office to your back. Keep going straight for about 2.5 city blocks and you’ll walk right into the hotel. Much easier than the 40 minute hike we took. 2. Restaurant staff on the whole were great. Only issue was this morning when we went to breakfast this morning and tried to sit in our usual table, the staff tried to sit us with some other people. I asked if we could sit at a different table and the individual said no and walked away. We didn’t know these people they tried to sit us with. However, they were tourists like us. I was frustrated because the staff member just walked away from us when I was still speaking to him. Very rude! 3. The toilet room smelled really bad. It was a combination of mold and chemicals.
