Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Yatsugatake

The room is average, simple like a business hotel. I was disappointed with the Hoshino. There was no one in the lobby, few waiters, and a long queue for breakfast. The so-called commercial street has few businesses. The hot spring is outdoors, which is terrible when it rains. You have to wear clothes to soak in the hot spring. It may be more suitable for Japanese families. It is very noisy, there are many children, and the sofas in the lobby are shabby.

I was able to play with my children without any hesitation. The pool, restaurant, and rooms were stocked with goods and amenities for children, which was helpful. I didn't have to worry about the noise from the next room, and I didn't have to worry about my child making noise in the room. The inside of the hotel was well kept and I felt safe. All the staff are smiling. In particular, I felt that the activities for children (aerial walk, kids studio) were very well taken care of, and the prices were reasonable. The free shuttle bus was easy to use, the driver was nice, and he handled my luggage with care and loaded it. However, I got the impression that most of the staff at the front desk and the buffet restaurant seemed confused, perhaps because they were not used to it. Additionally, I felt that the restaurants within the facility (soba restaurants, burger shops, etc.) were expensive, often sold out, and had poor customer service. The washing area and changing room in Mokumokuyu are easy to use and comfortable, but the fact that they are far from the room and the large public bath is only available for mixed bathing makes it a bit inconvenient for families with children. Also, I heard in the press that all Hoshino Resorts staff members do not wear masks, but they are not forced to wear masks or not, and staff members who have hay fever or are feeling unwell should wear masks as appropriate. I would feel more at ease if you left it alone.

This is a hotel that I have used before. My 4th grade daughter wanted to go to the pool, so I stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days with my middle school son and family. I wasn't feeling very well and was playing by the pool with the kids, but they warned me that they couldn't go into the pool without a parent present. I thought it would make sense for small children, but for fourth graders, there are many facilities that children can use together, so I asked the staff about it. The answer was that junior high school students can use it, but elementary school students and younger cannot use it unless their parents go into the water with them. When I complained that I wasn't feeling well, I was told that although some people do, my daughter wasn't allowed in the pool as it was a rule. I've also drowned in high school, so I thought it was impossible, anyone could risk drowning, and I didn't really understand what he was saying. I told my daughter coldly that she couldn't go to the pool unless I went in, and she looked sad, so I went in the pool too, even though I wasn't feeling well. The customer service was very unpleasant, and I felt that the female staff members were incapable of caring for people, let alone customer service. I wonder if this facility is trained to give explanations in a high-pressure manner. I think it would be a good idea for the hotel to clearly state in the reservation notice that elementary school students are not allowed to enter the water unless their parents do so. Please be careful when using the facility with children in the upper grades of elementary school. My hobby is traveling, and I have stayed at various star resorts, membership hotels, long-established inns, and large hotels, but I have never experienced such bad customer service. The hotel knew about this incident, but perhaps they were used to receiving complaints, and they didn't respond seriously when we left. It turned out to be a very disappointing trip until the end.

◾️Meals We had breakfast and dinner at Wai Wai Grill. I heard it's a central kitchen system, but the menu was rich and delicious. The vegetables (especially tomatoes), peach mint juice, waffles, yogurt cream, and soft serve ice cream were especially delicious. When you are given a paid drink menu at Wai Wai Grill for dinner, which one will you choose? I was asked. The children aren't very fond of carbonated drinks or unusual juices, but if that's all they have, they choose a drink. The grape juice I ordered was delicious, but there were a lot of free drinks available, and I liked the juice more, so I wish I had been informed first that there would also be free drinks. If I had known, I wouldn't have forced my child to order a paid drink. Also, the shops on Piman Street are closing too early. I didn't make a reservation at Wai Wai Grill for dinner on the second day because I thought it would be boring, but I thought that if someone I didn't know came to stay during the busy season, I would be a refugee for dinner. Is it possible to at least make the last order at 20:00? ◾️Building I stayed in the residence building. I paid a reasonable amount of money, but the dust in the corner of the indoor stairs was collected and white, the red carpet had white stains, the tiles in the bathroom were peeling and dirty, and the window sash was also... Highly recommended. Even in the wax pool, the area around the door from the women's changing room to the pool is not well-cleaned, there is noticeable dust in the changing room, and I am concerned about rust, dirt, and peeling paint on the doors, walls, and floor. The floor of the pool itself was peeling and dirty, and the floats we rented were dirty, so it was a mess. I think it's difficult to keep it clean because it's around water, but I didn't want to go in there if I didn't have children. The washing area in the indoor bath at Mokumoku-no-Yu was also very old and I didn't feel comfortable taking a bath at all. It can't be helped that there are insects, but I would like something to be done about the deterioration. I'm paying a decent amount of money... ◾️Service When I went to HOSHINOYA Fuji, the service and hospitality were very good, and I want to go there again! I should have stayed the night! I thought. There was a wine party going on so I went there, but adults and children only had 2-3 sips of wine or juice and were left standing. Children get bored while listening to stories. I wish I had just bought the wine myself instead of going all the way. I think Hoshinoya Fuji would have been able to do tastings to compare drinks and pair nuts and cheese. The system where you can sample wine and purchase mini bottles at the book cafe was very nice! Should we push this further? ◾️Activity The aerial walk in the forest was really great! ◾️Overall I was concerned about the aging of the building, the lack of cleaning, the feeling that the building itself had been neglected, and the difficulty of using Piman Street, so I decided not to go there again. I think it's about time for a complete renovation.

After gazing at the Yatsugatake mountain range from the Yatsugatake parking area and feeling like a highland resort, we headed to RISONARE Yatsugatake. As you know, this is a resort-type resort run by Hoshino Resorts. Green Pepper Street is 150 meters long and filled with colorful flowers, and is lined with nice restaurants, cafes, and specialty stores, so the day after our stay, we took a leisurely walk down Green Pepper Street. We had dinner and breakfast at the WaiWai Grill located inside the hotel. I recommend making reservations for this WaiWai Grill as soon as possible after completing your hotel reservation. We were able to make a reservation right after booking the hotel, so we were able to get the time we wanted, but if you go later, there is a risk that the time you want will be unavailable. The next morning, we didn't splash around in the water, but we did see the wave pool "Il Mare," which is free for guests. After staying overnight, we were able to enjoy each facility to the fullest the next day at the resort.

I went there with high expectations as it was my first star resort, but I was disappointed because the cost-effectiveness was so poor. There's not even a welcome drink on weekdays. The facility is old, dirty, and has poor equipment. There were not a lot of amenities at all, and I would have liked at least the children to have their own loungewear. The refrigerator was loud and uncomfortable as it was right next to the bed. The staff's response was also poor, and there were three different answers to the same question. My daughter has an allergy to raw food, so her request for the food to be thoroughly cooked was ignored, and this is the first time I've been to a hostel where they don't take care of her allergies at all. The outside of the room window is athletic, and when you open the curtains and look outside, you can see the inside of the room. Restaurants close early in the evening, so you'll be a refugee for dinner. There was a convenience store nearby, so I bought it there, but I never thought I'd end up having dinner at a convenience store while I was on a trip to escape reality and spend money to refresh myself. I was disappointed that Mokumokuyu was not a hot spring, but a facility worse than a public bath in the neighborhood. It was small and poorly made, and I didn't feel relaxed at all. I will never stay here again.

I was disappointed. I think I expected too much from the brand. It was a waste of expectations. They just renovated an old Showa-era facility and put it under the Hoshino brand. The inside is old, there are many stairs, and it does feel old. The staff also seemed to be all young people who work for hourly wages and have no sense of responsibility or mission. The food, which I was looking forward to, was also disappointing. The food at pensions and guesthouses is more luxurious, freshly prepared, and warm with love. Maybe I should have just stayed overnight and gone out to eat at a nearby family restaurant for meals. In the end, I thought it was a popular hotel whose purpose is to handle a large number of Chinese people with a small staff. Even Japanese people who are used to traveling will not choose Hoshino again. I think it is aimed at young people who see Hoshino in Rurubu or on TV and are inspired to travel.

I'm from Okaya City, so I'd like to stay at RISONARE Yatsugatake when I go back home. Yamanashi Prefecture has a mild climate and is rich in nature. There are many ski resorts, so it's probably the best place for dieting. It's also easily accessible to Tokyo and Nagoya. I hope you continue to spread the appeal of Yamanashi Prefecture. I'm rooting for you from afar.

I went there on a girls' trip with my kids. It was very nice that they could rent skis and snowboards for free, and it was nice that they also included a lift ticket for Fujimi Kogen Ski Resort, but the sledding zone for children was only a special offer. Also, the snow quality was poor, the course was narrow, and snowboarding was prohibited, so it's not a good place to enjoy winter sports. There is a pool and a large public bath, so it would be convenient to have indoor clothing and sandals to wear when using them...or rather, it's too inconvenient not to have them. There are no restaurants that are open late and are enjoyable for adults. Some of the restaurants and shops that are tenants have terrible operations, hygiene, and customer service. There are no trash cans at all in the changing rooms or washrooms at the large public bath and pool. Cleaning is insufficient. In the end, it's a family hotel with Hoshino quality, disguised as a luxury hotel. However, the staff are nice (although their efficiency is questionable).
