This is a good value for money hotel. If I come to Hawaii again, I will go to Ilima Hotel or Luana Hotel. The interior has also been renewed, so it is much better than the photos posted on Trip.com. ^-^ I got a room on the Waikiki Beach side, but there was a slight sea view through the buildings, so I asked for a room with a canal view, went into the room that was cleaning, checked the view, and got it. The canal view is really nice. The kitchen was neat and all the furniture was new and clean. There is a food shredder (there seems to be all of them in the US). There is parking and parking is free, which is a really important advantage. TTTT Tears come to my eyes when I think of the hardships I had with parking after I left this hotel. It was an Ilima Hotel with a kitchen, parking lot, terrace and canal view, and the location was good.

We exited a cruise ship at 8 am and, since it was too early to check in, the front desk person let us leave our luggage there while we spent the day at the PCC (Polynesian Cultural Center). When we returned, they happily gave us extra coffee packets for our room to use the next morning. The room was huge compared to so many of today's hotels! There were only two of us, but it would be great for a family, with kitchen, dining table, and extra space for everyone. Though the bathroom was small, the beds were very comfortable. The Ilima isn't a brand new hotel, but it was clean and neat and a good price in a nice area of the city.

It’s very comfortable, clean accommodation in a small hotel that is an easy walk to the beach and all of the activity of Waikiki, and close to bus routes and the International Center. The staff are fantastic - surely the most helpful in town! We return most years - no need to look elsewhere for somewhere to stay
