Vive Hotel Waikiki

Unfortunately upon check in we found our room's two window-AC-units both had large amounts of mold in the vents, and you could smell mildew in the room and on the bed sheets. The room itself also had a variety of issues that come with it being an old building that hasn't been kept up very well. Staff was apologetic, but unable to move us to another room due to no availability, and they couldn't replace the AC units because they didn't have the parts to do so. Ultimately my wife and I had to find a new hotel the day of, an expensive move in Waikiki. Vive hotel staff refused to give us a full refund, but thankfully ******* covered the loss. We were sad that our experience didn't match the positive reviews we read when booking.

We stayed for 7 nights in May. The "stay longer save money" plan for us was perfect as amenity fees can be quite high in Waikiki, and we were there for a conference more than a holiday. Nonetheless, we did spend time at the beach and the free use of the umbrella, chairs and towels was excellent. It was only a short walk down the street to get to the beach. As well, any items we needed, like cork screw and tea kettle were provided when we asked, which was very helpful. The included breakfast was good enough and appreciated, though, did get boring after several days of pretty much the same offering. The hotel was very well located with easy access to the beach, not too noisy and the convention center was easy to get to by quick direct bus or 30min walk, which was helpful. There were good restaurants within easy walking distance as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel itself is a bit older than some of the others around that were recommended by the conference organizers, but the rooms and lobby were clean and well cared for. The corner room we had (queen ocean view) had good ocean views which was consistent with the option we had requested; so no complaints there.

My wife was happy that we stay in this hotel and you know what they say happy wife happy life and if it is in hawaii is even better ! 🤭😎. The employees are very friendly and professional , everydays has a really good breakfast , it has a good view to waikiki beach.

The view is amazing! Looked forward to my coffee on the veranda every day. Steps to the lawn with provided loungers. Steps to the pool or beach. Saw 5 turtles off the sea wall on our 2nd day. Convenient parking and a great neighborhood. Would def stay here again.

First time at the Vive but if I return to Honolulu I would definitely stay here again. The hotel is older so a little worn around the edges but it is clean, two blocks from the beach, has a good breakfast selection, and has the most incredible employees. I was traveling with two older teens and they agree whole heartedly with this is assessment as well. Well done Vive!
