Homewood Suites by Hilton Birmingham-South/Inverness

Great location - right off the highway. Great breakfast and the rooms were very, very nice. Great part of Birmingham to stay in. We were on our way to Florida and it was the perfect half-way point. Really enjoyed our stay!

I reserved this suite for ease and comfort traveling with my family. It was a very large and nice suite

Great costumer service and super clean.

Property needs a major renovation and a deep clean. Staff was very accommodating and assisted best they could. Majority of appliances, fixtures, lights, toilets, TVs are in disrepair. The carpet and tile floor needs either replacement or a deep clean..stains and holes throughout. Fans and curtains have not been cleaned also having multiple stains and caked on dirt. Had our room moved to another which was a little better but still not Hilton quality I’ve seen in the past. Overall disappointed in *******’s and AAA’s ratings of the property and that a Hilton hotel is in this bad of shape. Will not return.

Always stay here when in the Birmingham area.

Booked a room with a queen bed and a sofa bed for three people. The sofa bed wasn't made up and there was no bedding for it in the room. Went to the front desk to get the necessary bedding as well as fresh batteries for the tv remote as the batteries in the remote were dead and corroded. Front desk staff was very polite and helpful with these issues.

Great views

I've stayed in many Homewood Suites in the US and this one was the worst I've ever experienced. The first suite we were given looked like housing had been interrupted as the cushions were off the coach and the floor carpeting looked frayed. The second room wasn't much better. There was flooring in the kitchen area missing, the bathroom vanity had damage knobs, and other issues. I noted that the sleeper sofa was not made up and was told by the employee that it couldn't be closed if the sheets and blankets were on it (since I've had other Homewood Suites rooms like this I know that isn't correct). She then said they didn't have house keeping on site so I would have to make it myself. I feel if I'm paying for a suite, and since I specifically mentioned I would need to use the sofa bed when I made my reservation, I found this very disturbing. We later called as the TV kept showing 'no signal" and was again told nothing could be done as there was no one for maintenance. I will never stay in this hotel again and will consider whether I will be staying in other Homewood Suites elsewhere. Sadly my friend who was with me has never been in a Homewood Suites. I was embarrassed as I spoke highly of them and she remarked she'd never stay in another one.

DO NOT STAY HERE! I travel a lot and this property was one of the top three worst hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. Common hallways not vacuumed and carpets are very dirty, walls with peeling paint. Room carpet was was ripped, stained and disgusting. Stained sheets, worn duvets, holes in black out shades, Odor in room was rough. This property needs massive TLC and a serious deep clean. Was so grossed out by this place I didn’t even think about trying the breakfast. Slept very little as could not get comfortable in such an unclean environment so packed up and left very early. I’ll stick with the Marriott brand as never had any issues with their quality control.
