Let's start with the positives first, the location is good, and the price is cheap. Other than that, a nightmare. That was by far the dirtiest hotel room I've stayed in SEA so far. Most items looked like they were never cleaned since the hotel was built. Downstairs there was some weird general store full of dust and an empty restaurant. Don't stay here if possible.

Für eine Nacht und zum Start unserer Mekong-Reise war`s ok. Da an der Hauptstraße gelegen gibt es umliegend genügend Restaurants und Möglichkeiten, sich mit Proviant für die Bootstour einzudecken. Im Hotel kann man auch Boot- Tickets kaufen.

Ce pourrait être pas mal. Chambre vaste, correctement équipée, accueil agréable. Mais il faudrait faire le ménage correctement. La salle de bain était sale, le chauffe eau marchait très mal, et il y a bien du bazar partout dans l'hôtel. Les lits étaient propres, un peu fermes. Il paraît que c'est un des meilleurs hôtels de Huay Xai. Bien content de n'avoir pas vu les autres.

Houay Xai doesn't have a ton of overnight lodging options besides basic backpacker places, but Oudomphone was perfectly fine for our one-night stay before our Mekong river cruise. Very basic room and bathroom but everything worked and was reasonably clean. Hard pressed to do better for $16/night USD!

The location is perfect and the staff are very friendly and helpful, and they can assist with buses to other places in Laos or across the border. Beds are comfortable and rooms are clean. Showers are hot. Wi-Fi was ok. Breakfast on offer for a reasonable price.
