This trip to Hualien was very lucky to stay in this homestay. This amazing mountainside bed and breakfast is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Our room had a spectacular view of the city and a nice porch. I later found out the owner had upgraded us to the best room for free since it was empty. Incredible hotel and customer service! We arrived tired after hiking around Toroko Gorge and didn’t want to get a taxi to go to the city to get food. We were going to eat some bread we had with us, but they made us a big pot of delicious noodle soup and didn’t charge us anything! Breakfast was yummy traditional ********* food. They also let us do laundry there for free. The owner gave me his phone number and offered to drive us into town whenever we needed. He said he likes to welcome his guests like friends who are visiting from out of town. My daughter loved playing with the hotel dog, Ahua, and kittens. Just walking around the hotel, you can enjoy fresh mountain air and beautiful scenery. What an incredible stay. So much cheaper and more relaxing than Taipei. I am telling all my friends. I can’t wait to come back!

The room type was also very beautiful. The room environment was very clean and the public areas were also very clean. The overall stay was very comfortable. We had a very good stay at the Fantasy Apartment, overall! First and foremost, I want to thank the host, who was super helpful and informative! The room layout is a bit out of the ordinary, but the place was clean and comfortable. The tub was a bit wobbly upon entering/exiting it, so I'd suggest fixing it to the floor better, but the water temperature and pressure were fantastic. Pros: friendly host (but make sure you have a Translation app if you don't speak Chinese), near Hualien Station, 24hour laundromat nearby, places to eat nearby, and places to rent bikes. Cons: wobbly bath, and floor-to-ceiling window (however there are curtains).

Hualien is the happiest day of this trip to Taiwan. The owner of the hotel, Mr. Gao, booked the train tickets for us very early, and picked us up at the train station. Because of the typhoon, the train was late. Mr. Gao thoughtfully took us to Dongdaen Night Market for dinner; the next day, Mr. Gao took it all day. We experienced a different Hualien. Every time we parked, Mr. Gao put us in the nearest place to the attraction, and then waited for us to finish the tour before picking us up at the nearest place. It was very considerate! The room is also very beautiful, full of girls' hearts, my daughter especially likes it! I will definitely go again next time if I have the opportunity!
