Zya Regina Resort and Aqua Park Hurghada

The Regina is a basic all inclusive hotel right in the centre of Hurghada. Easy walking distance to the Marina and bars, restaurants etc are right outside the front door. Majority of staff are friendly, tips get you better service (as in most places in Egypt). Samir who cleaned our bungalow was absolutely fantastic, every day he left something else in our room that helped us enjoy our stay. From a kettle (not typical to get in Egypt all inclusive) to hotel embroidered slippers and a wonderful smile every single day, I hope the management cherish him as he is simply brilliant. The bungalow was spacious enough but the shower was tiny, beds comfy, plenty of clean towels too. The food is basic and not to the standard I’ve had in other hotels in Hurghada but there was always something to have. The beer is poured in to small glasses from a bottle and all the spirits are local equivalents. If like me you need coffee early morning (before 7) then you’ll have to pay for it. They have a machine in a little cafe area and at the pool/beach bars but machine coffee is not available whilst breakfast is being served. Instead it’s provided in a huge urn and not very palatable. If you arrive before 3pm you’re not entitled to have lunch or dinner after 12 o’clock check out on your last day…they cut your band off when you check out. If you check in after 3pm then you can get a voucher from reception which allows you to have lunch. I’ve never had this at any other hotel in Egypt (this was my 18th visit) and adds to the basic feel of the hotel. If you’re looking for a cheap hotel to enjoy the ever present sunshine then the Regina could be for you.

It was okay, but it wasn’t warm enough in winter hope next time they would be able warm up the Ocean during winter time.

If I could I would leave 0 stars. My parents (german) stay in the hotel, I (german) live here in Hurghada and wanted to join them with my husband (egyptian) for one day. I didn’t know if its possible so we asked two days before we wanted to come. They say daily use is no problem and me and my husband can come. The day we come I came one hour earlier and they let me inside for the daily use. Once my husband arrived, they say there is no daily use possible after I show them my bracelet they say its full. The beach was completely empty and not even half the rooms busy. When I talked to the manager he told me there is no daily use till after one week. When I show him again that I booked it in the morning he just left. They make us wait for one hour just to leave in the end because they wont let him in. They even had the audacity and wanted to give me only half the money back after I asked for it. As I will of course not leave my husband outside. I don’t understand how you can be open for any people from outside but when people from their own country want to visit, they are “full”. And by the way, from my parents I can tell the food is bad and the one hour I was on the beach around 10 people came and try to sell things without stopping to talk. They even come and touched my mum when she was alone on the beach trying to sell her massage, she said no multiple times but the guy keep touching and massaging her hands without her wanting it. I am really angry on the staff for making such excuses when in the end they just don’t want to let egyptian people inside. unbelievable! dont go there.
