In Motel mode, the room has a large bed and good bedding, but the air conditioner is too loud, and it will start and stop automatically. Breakfast is a typical American family fast food, milk fruit drink muffin omelette basically these, it is self-service. When I checked in, the front desk was an older lady, very friendly and polite. I got off the plane from Washington and drove all the way to get a foothold and felt very warm. There is a small courtyard where you can park for free. Not far from HIGHWAY, it is more convenient to drive in and out.

Stayed as a quick getaway after working a couple days of long shifts. EVERYTHING that could go wrong, DID go wrong. Check in was smooth & pleasant. Room was clean & comfortable. Unpacked, about to shower and heard heavy drops of water. Went to investigate & had 2 dripping water pockets directly above shower. Immediately reported & was moved down the hallway to ntire stay, but a room that was just as comfortable & clean, yet the bed wasn't completely made. Had 2 report that. Housekeeper was friendly & sweet, but she entered my room without knocking. She was very apologetic. Staff was supposed to assist me in moving from room 2 room since I had unpacked. They did NOT. Didnt settle into my room until 2 hrs AFTER checking in. I was exhausted. Next day I reported to Mgr. Was told that she was on the phone. She NEVER reached out 2 me, so I went 2 front desk where I found her. I felt under valued & unimportant as she did not give me her undivided attention as she continued tapping away on the computer as I explained to her what had . In the end, she offered like a $55 discount on my entire stay. I accepted, but to be honest, my 1st night should've been FREE. I did sleep comfortably however, and I felt safe knowing that due 2 locked security doors, outsiders couldn't simply walk through to elevators and wander the halls. Great location, as well. On the outside it is not inspiring. There is construction going on and it's tucked in between like a car dealership and other non-hotel businesses. I was worried as I drove up. But inside, it's its own little world. It is EXTREMELY clean. The breakfast was actually satisfying and the staff were friendly. The room was great. The only thing I would like to see is, as they replace their mini-fridges, that they use ones that have a separate freezer compartment. We had some frozen things we wanted to stay frozen, and the back wall of the mini-fridge was not up to the task. We slept great and it was conveniently located for where we needed to be. Very fair pricing as well.

I came to the Holiday Inn Express with two of my friends and the assistant manager Ibrahim was very helpful when we had some trouble checking in and he was very helpful throughout the process of helping us. Very professional and my friend and I will definitely come back to this hotel because of him.

I stayed at this hotel in Silver Springs on Colesville Rd in March 2023. Both nights of my stay, I was not able to sleep because of the group next door. The second night, I called downstairs twice, after I was not able to sleep because the group next door kept banging on my door, yelling on the floor, and partying. Both times, I was told that even though the hotel has a policy stated on all floors that the hotel was quiet as a mandate from 11pm-7am, there was nothing they could do. I’m not a particularly light sleeper either. This led to me not being able to sleep all night both nights, it ruined my stay, and it is simply not acceptable to run a hotel where management denies guests the basic right to sleep in the hotel because they can't manage other guests. When I went downstairs in the morning to follow up, the person at the front desk seemed confused and told me that the standard response is to send security to manage the group. This was never offered, nor what the person at the front desk did. I find all of this unacceptable. I was staying there for a conference and I was not able to do the work I should have reasonably expected to be able to do because I was exhausted from travel and unable to rest. I think the very basic function of a hotel and the reason people stay at hotels is that they expect to be able to sleep in the room that they have been assigned. If you can't provide that, then I don't know why you offer people rooms at a price.

Overall I give this stay 5 stars. The front desk staff were VERY friendly! The location is epic! While there is currently no housekeeping service due to covid 19, house keepers came by the room each day to drop off any requested room items (eg coffee toiletries towels). Hummingbird restaurant is open and delicious. Notes: Parking available in a city deck immediately behind the hotel for significantly less money than hotel parking. The walls in the hotel are VERY thin - I listed to my literally could listen in on neighbors phone calls (& ahem…other activities).

PROS: Stood here for the weekend with my partner. Aesthetically, the hotel is super artsy, fun, and pleasing to the eye. The decor and appearance screams chic, quirky, and metropolitan. From the lobby, adorned with all manners of interesting books, odd trinkets, and colorful sculptures, to the cute, cozy outdoor sitting space filled with pretty greenery, I could not stop raving about this hotel the entire trip. The style of the rooms could very much be described as a European “take” on the well-known Japanese “Pod” style hotels. The rooms were concise (not cramped) and had a sleek, modern, and minimalistic style of furniture (desk with chair, bench, vanity w/sink, bed-frame with built in storage space). Think “IKEA meets stylish, retro Japanese pod hotel”. If that makes sense. LOL. Plus everything in the room is controlled using an iPad which I think it pretty flipping cool. SMART TV in the room, as well, meaning unlimited access to YouTube, Netflix, or pretty much anything that can stream from your phone/device which is perfect after a long day exploring the city. (You can also change the color of the mood lighting in the room via the IPad which provided my boyfriend and I with hours of entertainment pretending we were post apocalyptic humans trapped in some green-tinted “Twilight Zone” style alien bunker) Also, if you prefer a hard mattress, you will find the hotel bed very comfortable. During our time here, we had easy access to a LOT of good food. There’s 2 restaurants inside the hotel as well as a really great Middle Eastern restaurant directly across the street. (I approve of their falafel and roasted sweet potatoes. Very good). There are so many cultural and ethnic restaurants in the immediate area for those who are adventurous eaters. There’s even a pretty nice Trader Joe’s around 4 blocks away for stocking the hotel room with healthy snacks and beverages (a must). Plus Union Market is pretty close to the hotel. I wouldn’t miss it if I were you. Big hall with lots of food vendors and even a little shopping. Even if you aren’t looking to eat and just want to kill a little time, it’s still interesting to walk around and see the cool and unique foods they sell. Soak up the little local color. Overall, it was a totally unique and memorable hotel experience that was totally worth the cost. Well done. LF

We had the opportunity to stay at the Yotel in Washington DC. At booking we had some hesitancy but we were so pleasantly surprised. The rooms were as described with very comfy beds. The lobby minimally furnished with no frills like gift shops or any luxury. However the staff is exceptional! Ms Dionne at Art and Soul is a wonderful presence and greets everyone with smile and pleasantries... she is wonderfully friendly and helpful. We will not soon forget her greetings or helpfulness.. Myla at the desk...saw we were distressed about the rain..in a minute she ran to a supply room and came back with umbrellas for us to use...we never asked...she just did it! And Dewan was so responsive on any and all requests. She was caring and concerned for us as hotel guests.. The bellman, maintainance and housekeeping staff went above and beyond as well! This DC vacation will stay our my memory...not because of the sights but because of Ms Dionne, Myla and Dewan and the staff at Yotel DC. Thank You! Phyllis & Vito

Uniform standard hotel chain 🏨, very comfortable & #128524;, the price is too expensive to book, change a place to order one day, from the west to the south of the city, drive a car, 🚗&#128664 ;

Totally nonresponsive to our booking needs. We clearly communicated our needs for a handicap room as well as a double room to accommodate 3 family members. Nothing was as ordered when we arrived an hour past check in time. The handicap room had a tub when we requested a walk in shower. There was absolutely no storage in the room or bathroom. There was no safe in the room. We were told that this was how all handicap rooms were. There was no soap in the room. It took two requests from housekeeping to get soap and the head of housekeeping totally contradicted the front desk and said she would get us a room to meet our needs. At 10:30 pm we had to repack all our luggage and move to another room. This room did have a walk-in shower, a small free standing set of drawers in the bathroom, no other storage and a safe that was unreachable and literally on top of what is euphemistically called a closet. All this for only $250 a night, 3 rooms for 3 nights. Not an insignificant amount of money. The only accommodation we received after asking was a free buffet breakfast which was comparable to a Holiday Inn Express, adequate but certainly not lavish. Also because one person made the reservation they would not award loyalty points to anyone else even though we all paid for our own rooms. It shouldn’t be that complicated to change this request.
