Hotel Vibra Mare Nostrum

Check-in at the hotel took over 60 minutes waiting in a very hot reception. Our room (1001) was very noisy. At night it was the people next door laughing and shouting. People outside on the corridor laughing, shouting and running. During the day, it was the construction workers outside the hotel. Our balcony was small and no sun ever shone on it. We looked right out onto a construction site and down onto the car park of the hotel. I am a registered member of Club Vibra and I asked for a nicer room at check-in and this is what we were given. The room was big and the beds were comfortable. There was one small dressing table. The bathroom was clean and the shower good quality. The cleaners were very obliging each day giving us clean towels. There were extra duvets if you are cold at night. There was good air con in the room. There was a safe in the room which you pay €10 deposit for and you get it back when checking out. On the first day we were told we could not buy drinks at the bar unless we had a token. However, the queue at reception was so long we did not have time to queue up again. It turns out you only need a token for drinks if you’re all-inclusive which we were not. You can buy drinks with cash or card. The woman working in the pool side bar outside was lovely and so helpful. The food in this bar was delicious as were the cocktails. Breakfast was fine. It worked for us but nothing too extravagant. There were no freshly made omelettes or pancakes as you sometimes see in other hotels. Everything was under a heat lamp. The bakery section was delicious with fresh, warm selection of food. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a short trip with friends but I would not expect any luxury or extravagance. There is a taxi rank right outside the gate and it’s very easy to take a taxi. The ***** of Playa D’en Bossa and all the shops and restaurants are all within walking distance as well as the beach which is right across the road. We did not spend much time in the hotel, mostly just for sleeping so it was perfect for us.
