The hotel is quite dated but still clean. However, the open air Onsen is very small and the indoor one looks very old

It was very nice to see a good view from the room and the hot spring. The person in charge of breakfast carefully explained the dishes and self-service. The front desk staff was also very helpful in explaining the recommended places for dinner on a map. It was a little far from Ibusuki station, so it was nice and quiet.

The food was delicious. The staff also provided transportation to the sand bath, and the staff was very polite.

Very nice onsen ryokan with a private bath. The staff was super friendly and service minded, the food was really good, and everything was very clean and in good condition. Highly recommended! Well worth the money!

Great onsen (hot spring) ryokan (traditional Japanese style hotel) but not much around. They run some ride service, but you should be prepared to use the taxi, rental car, or bicycle to go anywhere. If you like quiet, it sure is. Hot bath was not too hot, dinner (need reservation) and breakfast was both authentic traditional local Japanese food and was amazing.

We paid nearly 50,000 yen for the two of us. The room was terribly small, and the bath which they described half-outside onsen was just a bathroom without the window. I think it used to be enclosed with the glass windows but they just took out that window. If we turned on the light, people can see us from the road. And that is the only bathroom they have in the room. I have never seen a bathroom with a shower that is open to outside like this one. If it were half the price, I could understand but it was WAY OVERPRICED and very old and poor facility. The staff was nice but that was the only nice thing. The room they called "Asian-style" was just an old tatami-mat room with cheap Bali style decoration. The food was OK but not the worth the price we paid. It was BAD.

We stayed here on the first day of our 3-night, 4-day wedding anniversary trip to Kagoshima and Kumamoto. We were informed just before the trip that the pump supplying the hot spring water had broken down, and that the large public bath and the open-air bath could not be used. We considered changing the inn for a while, but then we were informed that they would be able to make it in time, so we were relieved and decided to stay. When we arrived at the inn, the manager apologized and, since it was our wedding anniversary, we were upgraded to a room with an open-air bath in the room. First of all, we were grateful for that! Although it was not large, the room was calm, had a small garden, and was the largest open-air bath in the room we had ever seen. Also, the private open-air bath we had reserved was cold in the natural environment, but the good hot spring and the hospitality of the staff warmed our hearts and bodies! Of course the food was delicious, but we also received a one-drink service and an upgrade to the dessert as an apology for the trouble, and we even received a couple's teacup made of local pottery at check-out, and we were grateful for that hospitality and thoughtfulness! It was an unforgettable in a way, and my wife and I are already using the teacups while reminiscing. Thank you very much.

Stayed to participate in the Ibusuki Nanohana marathon. On the morning of the tournament, it was very helpful to be sent to the venue by bus. There was an accident of water leakage in the middle of the night (the number of trains is small), but they responded quickly and changed the room. The large public bath on the top floor is also comfortable. There are few restaurants nearby, so it may be inconvenient if you don't have a car. About 15 minutes by car to Sand Bath Hall Saraku. Breakfast was hearty.
