The romantic treehouse was cozy and really really cool! The jacuzzi in there was a great treat! The woodwork is amazing and will def stay there again. The only thing that was a bit of a bummer is they say that dinner is a buffet and when we wanted to go for a second helping- they said all the food was done. So the dinner was not much of a buffet like they stated. The rest was good, they very accommodating to our needs and whenever i asked for something they didn't hesitate to help. Thank you for a great stay.

An absolutely stunning, quirky and wonderful place to stay. The owners/staff were incredible, food was wonderful and the tree houses were amazing. Peaceful and relaxed. It was so great I could happily live there.

A lovely stay in one of the quirky Tree houses - we stayed in Pegasus, lovely attention to detail in the wood work and art work. Tree house was spacious, plus we had a small outside balcony.. Great place to relax or use as a base to explore the KZN Midlands. Lovely home style meals.

We have visited Sycamore Treehouse on a few occasions (previously under different management). Always so special, but this time carried a different presence. We felt hovered over and uncomfortable by the new owners. Their particular commentary throughout the stay was off-putting and their patronising attitude towards our children was unappreciated. Each tree house is beautifully hand-crafted out of 100% wood. We have had the pleasure of staying in Fantasy, Faraway, Bottle house and Pegasus; however Planequarium seemed unfinished and half plastered with dry walling. It appeared damp with poor lighting at the lower level. The shower and Jacuzzi were spectacular nonetheless. Heaters however did not work in the bedrooms. It was a pleasure to be served full course meals at both breakfast and dinners, although it would have been preferred to be offered alternative meat options at Dinner. There was no alternative options provided at dinner, which was frustrating esp when the meat was very overcooked and vegetables over sauced with garlic. Breakfasts were enjoyable, although would have preferred fresh fruit salad as opposed to the reused and glazed dry fruit. To make mention, there was one meal in particular where we were unsure of what meat was actually served and all suffered a runny tummy the next day. Prior to our booking we enquired to swap out to another Treehouse during our stay when any alternative unit became available, but was advised that all units were unavailable. During our stay, however, we were for a large portion of the week the only family onsite and would have preferred to have been offered another unit. In closing, its always the small things that make a big difference. Unsure whether we will return for another visit, despite it holding a special place in our hearts and loving the Midlands Meander.

It is such a cute, quaint, cozy place for a nice couples weekend away, we really enjoyed our stay. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace in the room. the views from the dining area and the rooms are just picturesque.

We spent the day visiting a few places on the Midlands Meander before checking in here. The shops, farms and eateries were so friendly and welcoming, so this was a noticeable difference. The manner here seemed brusque and they were doing us a favour. No change was noted from 3pm to 9 am the next morning. Meals are mandatory , with dinner and breakfast included in the rate but, here too, it was all a big effort. The food were really basic, with no choices and could perhaps be described as institutional, for example the dessert. The scrambled egg was good on a cold wet morning and they did bake fresh muffins, to their credit. They know exactly how many people are coming and yet no fresh fruit was offered. Timing is also strictly to suit their schedule and not too accommodating for travelers. Breakfast starts at 8am,no debate. For a place located with easy access to the main Durban - Joburg route, this seemed a bit surprising. If I wanted to sleep in a unit with wet floors and dripping windows, I could have camped for a fraction of the cost. Yes rain and storms come but how they are handled says a lot. I know the pandemic has been tough on all but I for one was happy to throw the key in the departure box and leave. Pity, because the concept is different and location is attractive.

We had a wonderful experience staying for the first time at a “tree house”, appreciating the peaceful atmosphere and being surrounded by nature. The accommodation was clean and meet the basic requirements, considering it is a tree housing. Great hospitality, good food, and a pleasant relaxing area, where I and my daughter had an incredible time playing pool with nice music. We also enjoy the company of the adorable dogs!
