This cabin was absolutely beautiful and in a gorgeous location. For some reason we never received communication with the code to get into lockbox- but once we called and were able to talk to owner, it went fine. Wish we could have stayed longer , it was so very nice

DO NOT BELIEVE THE BAD COMMENTS!!! We have been here with our family for two days and if we had the chance we would stay another week. Everything is more than wonderful! Yesterday when we came the house was warm and CLEAN, the key was left for us and as soon as we called we got an answer from the owner/manager. We can't be thankful enough for everything we have here. WE WILL BE BACK ASAP FOR SURE!!!

No WiFi in the cabins. You have to walk down a steep shingled hill to get to WiFi.

What a wonderful cabin! And in a beautiful setting. Lovely and quiet. Cabin had everything we needed and a wonderful ambience. Red squirrel up the tree right opposite was magic!

This was booked for work accommodation as we couldn’t get our usual digs. On arrival we were met by quite a rude woman, who are u what do you want questions barked at us. After driving up a…. Well can’t even call it a road as the terrain was so bad, we were lucky enough to be travelling in a works van as god knows how a car would get up the track. Once we parked outside our lodge I immediately had my reservations of what this cabin would be like inside. As expected the cabin inside was absolutely filthy, damp patches throughout and a horrible sour smell. I opened every door and window possible as the smell was revolting. The cabin has clearly never been looked after properly since being built nor has it being cleaned properly as we noticed for the inches of stour and dust throughout different surfaces and cobwebs on the inside of every window. There was no hand wash in the toilet nor a toilet brush, this was ironic really as there was skid marks on the pan from the previous occupants, also used toilet paper still on the dispenser? Classy. We used the cutlery one night and then reverted to eating out as we took the boke as the plates weren’t clean and we had to wash everything before use. Disgusting!! The cabin is also totally infested with mice, they came out to great me in the bedroom one morning when I was getting dressed. We had the absolute pleasure of dealing with what we assumed were owners of the park again one morning while leaving to go to our work, they were doing some rubbish removal from the back of the hostel at the entrance to the site, a man with glasses had reversed back and blocked our access to get out and we were asked what is it? I thought it was pretty obvious that we needed out as we stated can we get out please? There was a gap between this car and another guests car I’m assuming no bigger to get a wheelie bin to get through, the lady asked how we couldn’t get by. Beggars belief tbh. We asked if they could reverse back slightly to let us by, the “gentleman” then threw down his garden implement in a strop because he had to move his car back a few feet. I find this behaviour absolutely strange but having read other reviews I’m not overly surprised. This place is an absolute cesspit that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, I’m stunned there has been positive feedback for this place at all. Avoid at all cost.

We booked on short notice, reading only the reviews on the website and *********** Better should have read the reviews on trip advisor. Our cabin "Black grouse" was really outdated, the furniture old, the mattress thin with urgent need to be replaced, as so the sofa, which in no way was like the picture and description on the website said. The Photos there seem to be years old when the cabin was new. I could have lived with all of that, but additionally everything was dirty. All tables sticky with stains from former guests, dirty and broken hob, dirty dishes in the cupboard. The floor obviously had not been swiped for ages. I do not need luxury, but a cleanliness us a must. I don't understand the good reviews on booking, maybe they are bought. I am a travelagent myself, so please don't book this betraying accommodation.

So we booked a log cabin in the woods and we were completely shocked when we arrived and found a cabin made of logs! In the woods! Not sure what the other reviews are about, as it’s a lovely place. We had been a bit worried when we saw other reviews but I can only assume the people leaving these reviews had some expectations that were slightly unrealistic. It is in the middle of nature so there will be spiderwebs outside. Everything you need to self cater is here. Only one wine glass was the only devastating discovery during our stay. The sponge was fine! Instant hot water, a great shower and a lovely view. We would like to come back in the future so please keep the trees growing in front of the top cabins at the height they are at now as the view will be lost if they are allowed to grow. Thank you for having us. See you again next time!

We had spent two weeks doing the NC500 and taking in Isle of Sky with all pre booked accommodation. We prefer camping but because of the number of one night stays we decided to try Glamping or similar. We gave 9 and 10 rating on all our pre-booked accommodations. On our way back home we decided to stay an extra night and booked "Black Grouse" log cabin at short notice expecting the same standard as all other cabins. The only good thing we can say about this property is its size and location. On arrival we parked in our allocated parking space which was next to what smelt like an overflowing cesspit. Access up the gravel hill to the cabin could be difficult for some people. Inside is a bit of a shock. Outdated furniture, bed shakes with a touch of a finger, mattress belongs to the tip, filthy table and seating, lampshade hanging off, TV not working, my wife couldn't turn the sink cold water tap off, one wine glass etc etc etc. Because of the state of the inside we got our sleeping bags out of the car then I said "we've had a fantastic holiday in Scotland why should this one place ruin it! We put our bags back in the car and left. We stayed down the road at a spotless comfortable hotel overlooking Loch Ness for £119. Looking at other reviews all my comments have been reported previously with no action taken by the operator. Don't waste your money Scotland's accommodation is better than this. AVOID THIS PROPERTY.
