Sorry to to write this review but the crown court in Inverness was really poor. They advertise on media and even around the hotel that they are a 'luxury hotel'. I was up for the loch ness marathon so just wanted a comfy sleep and wasn't too fussy but this was poor let alone luxury. On arrival there was nobody at the desk which is okay I guess at 17:05 and to be fair to them the staff answered the emergency phone very promptly. However on entering room there was questionable evidence of a thorough clean. There were no towels present at all so had to ring for that, the shower was mouldy in the bathroom, the bathroom shelf was at an angle so stuff slipped off, the toilet roll on the roll was sodden and there were brown stains on it.... thankfully there was a spare roll but guys come on 149£ a night?! I know it was marathon eve so prices up but really just basic hygiene. I was up too early for breakfast anyway but there was a note to say there wasn't staff for this. The info and key was printed on A4 paper but the printer had run out and was hard to read. The front door to hotel was open 24/7. Also got lost in the corridor on ground floor and stumbled into a cleaning cupboard with stuff just dumped in there. Not a great look... I could go on but I'm just exhausted and a bit fed up. Won't be staying again

Travellers beware. Where do I start! I am almost embarrassed to admit that I booked this hotel. From the word go it was bad. We arrived a bit early. Reception unattended. Eventually found staff sitting around in the bar area. We were told to come back at 3.00. We had booked a deluxe king room. Anything but! We were booked for 2 nights but only stayed 1 night and that was under sufferance. The staff we’re helpful but the manager/owner is obnoxious. When we asked to be refunded for our 2nd night because the hotel was not as promised he became almost confrontational. The restaurant isn’t operating. Hence breakfast was delivered to our room in a box. The manager said that his chef had resigned a few days earlier. On leaving after 1 night we could not find anyone to accept payment. I had to email the property in order to get someone to come to reception. The girl who came to help us had to call the manager/owner to get instructions on how to accept payment. My husband then asked to pay for only 1 night. The manager/owner then accused us of abusing his staff (which we had not). He then said “you have caused me nothing than f@%$ing grief. Pay the full amount and leave”. This man should not be in the hotel business. When he came to talk to us about our complaints he was sloppily dressed and his fly was undone. Great look. This hotel should be rated as a backpackers. Definitely not a 3 star. I have stayed in better youth hostels.

No air conditioning and room almost on road. You have to keep window open so you can breath and you hear the stop light beeping when the light changes and conversations of the people walking on sidewalk by your window . Traffic never stops. There is no one manning the desk or building. Flat hard pillows and the mattress is so worn out you can see dents in the shape of where people have laid.

This hotel is totally misrepresented. It is NOT charming, it is NOT comfortable. There is no AC, there was no one at front desk after 5pm, restaurant was not open, door to hotel unlocked and entry completely insecure. The bed was lumpy, we were on the ground floor and the only window we could open was on the street next to a busy road and crosswalk with beeping alert. We were on our honeymoon and my wife was in tears upon seeing the room. We ended up leaving and finding other accommodations after we discovered how bad it was. Three star, hardly, one star at best. Long walk into town center as well. We ate the room charge and left after finding another room in Inverness city center at an even lower price.

This hotel was great. The staff are so hospitable and lovely. They provided recommendations for dinner, things to do, and even called a taxi for us upon our departure. We had great conversations about Scotland and the USA. If your ever In Inverness you can’t miss out out a great place and great people.

Stayed for two nights at the end of may 2023, two rooms for family. Very comfortable and clean, plus Mickey was great. Very hospitable, welcoming and funny. The 5 of us re3ally enjoyed the stay. A quick and beautiful walk to City Center. Next time we are in Inverness, we will definitely stay at Crown Court. John and Kelly Conner
