Craik Na Dav B&B

Invermoriston|1.84km from The Viewcatcher
My family and I were walking the Great Glenn Way for the 1st time. We do, however, visit Scotland and specifically Fort William once a year. After our 3rd day of walking, where we took the high road, of course. We were running a bit late for check-in. We called Lindsey & and Manda, and they couldn't have been nicer. They were fine with us being late and even asked if we'd had dinner or had a booking for dinner at the local pub. I replied no, and they offered to book us in for 8 pm. This was going the extra mile for me. We ate at the Glenmorriston Arms, which was lovely. We then walked around the corner, and there was our B&B. We were greeted at the door by 2 sisters, Lindsey & and Manda, and they were so lovely and funny. We were welcomed into their home like they had known us for years. They also introduced us to their new little puppy who was gorgeous, and she went down a treat with my 2 boys. The rooms were clean and warm. Sat TV was available, and there was a decanter of whisky and 2 glasses in our room to have a tipple free of charge. We booked breakfast for 8am, and it was ready on the dot. This was the nicest breakfast we had had from all the B&Bs we stayed in on our 5-day 6 night walk, and the haggis was the best I'd ever had. They chatted with us for over an hour at breakfast telling is about the local wildlife and about the walk we were on. They were just fantastic and so lovely. If every B&B was like this, I'd be living in them, haha. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Lindsey and Manda. You do a fantastic job and seem to enjoy what you do. I hope you are both well and we hope to meet you again one day. PS. We ordered a packed lunch with them for the next day, and it was fantastic and well worth it!😃😋

Darroch View B&B

We arrived here after a long days walking on the Great Glen way. Hayley was immediately so accommodating and welcoming. She explained everything so well, asked us for our breakfast request and showed us to our room. Me and my partner had the double room and I can honestly say it was everything we needed and more. The room was spacious and extremely clean! The bed was so so comfortable. The comfiest bed we slept on throughout the whole trip. The bathroom was great too! My in-laws had the twin room and they also loved it. Although it’s a smaller room it still serves a purpose - a good nights sleep!! After a great nights sleep, Hayley prepared a beautiful full Scottish breakfast for us all that was to set us up for the whole day of walking! Nothing was too much for Hayley and she was a brilliant host! If I ever walk the Great Glen Way again I would 100% stay here again. Thank you Hayley!! :)

En route home from having a great 2 night stay at Foyers House, hosts Louise and Terry were very welcoming and very knowledgeable of the local area and beyond. We stayed in the Tarff room which was very comfortable and exceptionally clean throughout, the view of the Loch from the window was stunning. We had breakfast and evening meal on both days, which were outstanding! Couldn't fault quality or presentation. Had a great night with the other guests in The Wee Dram which is located inside the house. If your a Whiskey lover you could not be disappointed as there are over 200 whiskeys to choose from. Most definitely will return to this hidden little Gem. Only one downfall the Internet connection in the Foyers area was poor. Mike & ,Jay Manchester 😊

BCC Loch Ness Hostel

On arrival it looked really run down and I wasn't sure where we were supposed to go. There are no staff on site so you literally have to search for the room, luckily ours did have a door number but not all of the rooms did. We had a quadruple room, each of the beds were falling apart and we have to knock them back together. My 10yr old climbed up on to the top bunk only to find the safety tail was loose. The sheets were not clean, lots of grit at the feet end of the beds so clearly not changed in between guests. There was a telly in the room but it didn't work. The next morning I was up early to shower before leaving but there was no hot water, due to there being no staff on site this was not sorted before we checked out. I've stayed in many hostels and really do not expect much more than the basics but this was well below standard. I'm sure there are many other places to stay in the area that would be far better.
